ahalo
Im on 80 mg Latuda and haven't felt like it did anything for me. I'm now on Thorazine for sleep mostly but do I need Latuda since I'm on Thorazinne? Or if I don't take enough Thorazine to cover it, should I try Risperdal? It's the only one I haven't tried. I like Thorazine, it makes me feel really relaxed for about 12 hours. I'll sleep for 7 of those 12 hours, a good deep sleep. I take 50 mg at night. I wonder if there's a 25 mg option that I could take afterr the night-time dose wears off that wouldn't be sedating? Just wndering what you all think. I really haven't noticed any difference on Latuda, like I did when I was on Geodon (had to go off due to akathesia). Thanks!
Guest
You know, you really need to be asking your pdoc these questions. I have no idea if Latuda is doing anything or not. If you don't know then random people on the Internet aren't going to know either. Talk to your pdoc. He/she will know what to do.
ahalo
Well, like I said, Latuda has had NO effect that I noticed. I was running around for 3 days thinking that someone could possess anyone and come after me. I intend on talking to my pdoc, of course. But he pretty much does whatever I tell him to do, so if anyone has any idea whether Thorazine will treat those symptoms at a low dose I'd appreciate knowing. I have researched it. So either I will be going off Latuda and not replacing it, or going off Latuda nad replacing it with Risperdal. I don't know why people have to be so rude. Maybe I ask too many questions- I'll find another forum to go to.
Guest
Rude? You've got to be kidding me. If you're looking for rainbows, unicorns, and hugs then you're in the wrong place. If your pdoc is letting you call all the shots then you need a new pdoc. Thorazine may or may not work. You won't know until you try. If you want to go find another forum, go. Hope it works out for you.
ahalo
Well, I'm not changing pdocs. Strike one in the unhelpful box. I don't expect anything except people who don't have something constructive to say, to piss off. Strike two in the unhelpful box. And thank you for supporting a decision to go elsewhere; clearly you run this board. Strike three. Screw you. How's that for rainbows? Asshole. koali777
I know what you mean about researching the meds...I research the hell out of my meds, and meds that are similar to mine lol. I don't have the schooling or experience with patients, but I have been on a lot of meds...looks like you have too. So unfortunately I would say, of course, to talk to your pdoc as you know, but I think you have the right idea...research it and then ask his opinion and suggest it. That way you're still letting him be in control but pushing it to where it benefits you most. It's unlikely that he'd let you go on something that makes no sense, and your logic does make sense. It's good when docs ask opinions. I hope that helps. That's what I've been told. I just have a pdoc that doesn't like suggestions Oh PS, Latuda has worked well for me, and the old cliche is your mileage may vary...Abilify was a wretched drug for me, but it's helped a lot of people, Latuda is my wonder drug, but it doesn't work for you. I hope someone who has been on Thorazine can answer your questions.
notfred
I don't see where sylvan was rude at all.
ahalo
2200+ posts verses 371 posts. I hardly expect anyone to see my point of view. But honestly if people have nothing productive to say, it jus tmakes sense not to chime in. Tsk tsk shame on me for expecting people to answer who have experience with the meds in question. I'm not an idiot; obviously all this goes through my pdoc. talking down to people and telling them to go elsewhere because you are a jerk and can't keep your moouth shut (did i mention *2200+* posts??), is not productive. Thanks to the one person who had something constructive to say.
Guest Vapourware
Sylvan was polite in her posting. She noted that your question is beyond the scope of the boards. She is right. Such specific questions about medication is best addressed by the doctor looking after you, not a bunch of crazies online. What I'm seeing is basically a tantrum because you received an answer you didn't like. If anyone is being an 'asshole' it is you, ahalo. I think people deserve more respect than you're giving sylvan. Consider this a warning.

gizmo
Sylvan was just trying to get you to hold a mirror up to your face and see just how inappropriate your post was. She was not being rude, just very frank, and I personally like people to be that way. It's not about how many posts a person has, it's the content of what a person writes. The last 15 or so of your posts have been to try and solicit "expert" advice on medications you should try. But there's a difference between asking for people's opinions on the drugs they take, and opinions on what medications will or won't work for your specific case, and what specific suggestions to tell your dr to give you. If you got what you were asking for, I could tell you that vitamin C will work for you. Then you go and get your pdoc to write you out a script. Then it doesn't work for you, and you come back here, mad at me because you took what I said and it didn't work. Not only does that make CB and it's members look bad, but it could be considered practicing medicine without a license. And that would be really really bad. So I hope now you can see why sylvan said what she did. At this point, it's not proper to stay quiet and just say nothing.
ahalo
Well, it seems to me people are paying way too much attention to me (which is kinda creepy; please stop, I've done nothing to you and I am here whether you like it or not. Ignore me if you don't like my questions). Like, someone was just waiting for a chance to jump all over me and I don't care what all the veterans say, it was rude. I'm done with this stupid subject and I'm going to keep posting so deal with it. Or ban me.
Velvet Elvis
Keep posting. It's easy to get into an argument here but really hard to get banned.
