Hey guys,

Ive been out of action with the flu for over a week, but baby Im back!

My p-doc has changed my clozapine dosage from 300mg at night to 100mg morning, 200mg night. It has made an enormous difference! I seem to be getting coverage for anxiety, panic, agitation and all of the positive symptoms of schizophrenia in the afternoons when I was having most of my problems.

Ive also been 2 days without valium. Cool hey!

Lets hope this is a sign of things to come.

Clozapine can have a short half life i guess eh?

My pdoc just changed my abilify to 7.5 + 7.5 and it made me way less agitated. Amazing things can be done without increasing/decreasing the dose.

Hope you can cope with the withdrawals of valium if you have any.

Good luck.

Abilify's half life is 72 hours. So it doesn't really matter WHAT time u take it....

It does for me ... I take 15 mg in the AM and 30 mg at night. If i take it all at once, it doesn't seem to help a few hours before the next dose.

  • 2 weeks later...

Update: not out of the woodwork yet.

Saw p-doc today and we discussed my persistent panic attacks which seem to be brought on by psychotic breaks and intrusive thoughts.

We are sticking with the prozac/clozapine combo but adding a small dose of Zeldox (Geodon) to the mix. If I tolerate the zeldox we may be increasing it in 4 weeks time and see how we go. Deep breath.....

Well its now 4 weeks on, and we have increased my dose from 40mg-->80mg. I will keep posting. My panic and anxiety have been unbearable of late. Thank modern medicine for diazepam.

Goal at this stage is to reduce the clozapine from 300mg--> 150mg, and increase the zeldox gradually until a therapeutic dose is reached.

Finger crossed this all works.
