Xanax increasing concentration.

Recommended Posts

Has anyone found that Xanax actually increased their concentration? Shortly after taking it I find that I have a calm focus and I am much more organised if that makes sense.

I am able to do a project in an appropriate, orderly way and I actually finish the task. Before I used to be so scattered and I would lose motivation quickly. I am also able to read a few chapters at a time and actually follow along with what I am reading. I had lost this ability for about six years now so it is nice to be imroving once again.

This seems to be such an interesting result. It doesn't seem to help with my social anxiety one bit but I am happy to be reading and doing projects once again.

It gets rid of the panic and anxiety, which hinder my ability to function, and it calms me down so I'm not on edge, so yes, I can concentrate better.

Benzos csn take away that external noise and anxiety, allowing you to focus on the task at hand without constantly thinking about things that are stressing you out.

Personally, when I took Xanax, it just chilled me out, probably too much to get anything other than basic stuff done. I don't think I could have taken a Xanax and went studying and retain anything, for example.

6mg is high, but still within accepted norms. I think you understand the difference between dependence and addiction by the way you worded your sentence, but just in case....

I could understand your wanting to go lower than that amount, it is the upper end. But being dependent is not the same as being addicted. Most psychiatric meds require you to titrate off, it's just that benzos have a really, really, really long schedule. If you stopped an AC for mood stabilization cold turkey, you might have a seizure, but no one attaches the stigma to dependence on anti-epileptics that they do to benzos.

Frankly, it could be 6mg is just what you need as an individual for it to work. We have people on 6mg a day; it is not super common, but it is not considered shocking or anything.

I'm not saying one can't get addicted to Benzos. But I think even given your high dosage, it does not sound like you are having that problem.
