g8orgirl
I just heard on the news tonight that today was Chick Fil A appreciation day, for people that support the company's CEO's remarks about gay marriage. This Friday, the 3rd is going to be the Kiss In where gay and lesbian couples are encouraged to go to their nearest Chick Fil A and engage in public displays of affection. Is anyone here going to participate? I myself am straight but I am a big supporter of gay rights, especially marriage. I think I'm going to go to my local restaurant and just see if anyone actually shows up for the Kiss In. For those of you that haven't been following the story, the CEO of Chick Fil A spoke out against gay marriage a month or two ago.
Gearhead
We don't have Chick-Fil-A here (they haven't spread this far north), but almost wish we did, because we have a huge and vocal GLBTQ population and I'd LOVE to see this on the local news. basuraeuropea
I don't have anyone to kiss - but I'd like to participate at the local Chick-Fil-A. Maybe I can just show up to show support?
GonnaLaugh
i'm not really into PDAs, maybe I can swing by and cheer on my peeps though. I have been avoiding chick fil a for years because I'd heard something about it being right wing Christian, and also because i had a free sample once and thought it was gross. Velvet Elvis
I've been in a heterosexual relationship for going on ten years but if I can find a guy to make out with in Chick-Fil-A I'll go for it.
darkchylde
I'm trying to understand this being a world away; and thus not up on the news (I only heard a quote from a news report on the story on a podcast); has the CEO actually done anything defamatory or discriminatory? or is this protest actually a response to him exercising his freedom of speech (something that unlike us, you actually have a right to)? or is this 'kiss-in' in response to the fact there was an appreciation day; and not so much in response to what he said?
