Anti Obama

Recommended Posts

I don't profess to be an avid follower of politics. >.> I basically get my political fix from what I read on Reddit usually. That being said, just the few things I've heard about Mitt Romney and his running buddy, why oh why do people want them? I knew that for whatever reason one of my two friends I have here is completely anti Obama, and I learned that apparently a lot of people at my work are also anti Obama. I don't get this, can some enlightened people fill this in for me?

Well, any individual can have any number of reasons for disliking him. But when people say someone has Obama derangement syndrome, I always assume it is a polite way of saying that that person is racist. There is so much racist imagery floating around pertaining to Obama, it is really disturbing. I still worry about his getting shot.

I'm way to the left of him, but of course I am going to vote for him. Getting rid of the pre-existing conditions exception in and of itself was enough to get me to vote for him, and I actually do think he has done some other good things. He's definitely a corporatist, though.

That was... *single tear* Beautiful. The way I look at it is, okay here are our options, who looks like the best? But I get all my info from Reddit, so no doubt it's extremely biased to Obama...

Actually, I just realized that was the original version which was made in 2011. Here is the new one from 2012. "Rachel Maddow's a man."

And speaking of Rachel Maddow, this is hilarious:

I also cannot understand who'd want to vote for Romney. Unless they are a young, white, rich male. I've got Obama's back, and he's got mine!

I respect everyone's right to vote for whom they please. If there are women who want to vote for Romney/Ryan, I'm not mad at them, or anything. But WHY would any woman vote for Romney? He would choose the next supreme court justice, and Roe v. Wade would be GONE. His party's platform has a personhood plank, and allows no exceptions for rape or incest. I want to say not even an exception for the life of the mother, but I did read that somewhere only once. That is why I am qualifying.

At the same time, they want to get rid of contraception. I'm sorry, this is flat out misogyny.

Mittens is just clueless about women in general. Then there was that weird outburst by Ann Romney "I love you, women!" It sounded like "some of my best friends are black" on a certain level.

The people following Romney are either ignorant or evil. My wife's family are "Anti-Obama" and it makes me befuddled because they are poor people on Welfare, Medicaid, Food-Stamps and Social Security. How can they be supporting someone who wants to do away with those programs?

They are just ignorant of Obama's policies. And I'm not slamming them. Just saying they don't know what they are really talking about probably.

And yes, I agree. Why would any woman vote for Romney/Ryan? Sure, vote for them if you want all your rights stripped. Let's go back to the dark days. NOT.

I don't support either party. I think both democratic and republican ideas and policies are shit that's stacked really high. Neither side is willing to balance the budget and get spending under control. Neither side has the balls to make unpopular changes to popular programs like social security, medicare and medicaid. Both sides are willing to lie and distort the truth in the name of getting votes.

In any case I think it's silly and ignorant to make sweeping generalizations about either side. Not everyone who is republican is a racist, misogynist, ignorant and evil. Not everyone who is democratic is a socialist etc, etc.

What sucks is that we only have two choices ...and both are bad choices.

It never ceases to amaze me the extent to which people will not just vote but actively campaign against their own best interests. Whenever I see a lower middle class person extolling the virtues of Romney, I just shake my head. He would export that guy's job in a heartbeat or cut his wages and raise his taxes so he could give tax cuts to the 1%.

What pisses me off the most is how people give Obama shit for his policies and the plans he has put into action when all they're doing is focusing in on bits of information out of their context, it's misinformation but it works so well given the stupidity of the masses. Obama is playing the long game, making progress in an intelligent way that promotes stability, he needs, and has openly known he would need, another four years to really make the impact he is striving for, he is digging us out of a major hole.

I'll be voting for him, frankly I'd vote him in for king if given the chance. I also think that regardless of all the hate being spread there will always be a huge quantity of supporters that remain quiet and don't play into the fear mongering until voting day comes along. I would put money on him being reelected.

I work with a 50-something, African-American (although she prefers the term black) woman who is a religious zealot of the Pentecostal denomination. She's extremely conservative (reads the Drudge Report on her breaks, etc.), and she wants anyone but Obama. She's even said she's 'ashamed of her own people for electing Obama.' Even after I begged him not to, one of the janitors engaged her in political discussion the other night, and I have to say that from what I heard of it, he kinda handed her ass to her. LOL I almost got sucked into it when she made the comment that she didn't like the government using her money to kill babies (referring to planned parenthood, obviously), and I almost blurted out 'so planned parenthood is evil, but it's ok for the government to use your money for wars and kill babies in foreign countries? oh right, it is ok, because those are muslim babies & God hates them.' (I based this on her statement a few weeks ago that they "just need to go over & bomb Syria".) Hopefully you can all feel the sarcasm that I'm inferred in that statement, because it's that kind of hypocrisy that I find maddening. I don't really talk politics, because I'm not really sure enough in myself to debate with someone (I hate confrontation), so I had to really bite my tongue on that one.

Obama has my vote again, but I'm ashamed of myself for hiding it from those around me. My family & most friends & acquaintances are not Obama supporters. I mentioned something to my mother about having an opportunity to meet the POTUS, and she had such a tone of disgust in her voice when she said, "Who? Meet Obama?? Ooooh, Ruby." The tone said 'why would you want to do that?' I said to her, "like him or not, he's still the POTUS, and it's an honor to meet him. How many people can say they have met the POTUS?" She didn't really say anything else about it. I did have to tell her to stop sending me political emails because she does absolutely no fact checking before she hits the forward button, and they were all things like, 'Obama had the flag removed from AirForce One' and stupid shit like that.

OK, I think I'm done venting now. Thanks for listening, well, reading.
