ManWitPlan
Looking at the side effect profile on a view websites and it shows invegas eps at like 23% which is pretty high. I can't find a drug any higher. Makes me concerned about taking it. Especially if I need to up the dose to the max of 12 mg. Which I feel I need but scared to go up any higher than I have. All the docs I have seen seem to want to keep you on the lowest dose possible. So it might be a struggle to even get the dose increased. For me its either increase the invega or switch off of it to something else that has less side effects. Cause I feel that if i'm going to have symptoms i might as well have less side effects or if i'm going to have side effects i better have little to no symptoms. netsavy006
There are medications out there to help with some types of EPS. There's Cogentin and Artane which are prescription. There's also Benedryl. Another option is propanolol (a beta blocker). While yes they do like to use the lowest dose of APs to minimize EPS, there are choices among treatment should you experience EPS.

Yeah i just get scared of all the potential side effects when increasing dose. If I go up to 12 mg of invega thats the max dose and all. Don't want anything bad to happen. But I guess if it can help me become symptom free i'll try it just hate all these side effects. If they could make a drug with clozaril efficacy and latuda type of side effects that would be the perfect drug.
Guest Vapourware
You have to look at it in context. If 23% of people get EPS, that means you have a 77% chance of not getting EPS. Which is fairly decent odds that you probably won't get it. Every med has potential side effects. It's just the way it goes.
melissaw72
Everyone is different ... you might not even get the side effects listed. Also, sometimes they list like constipation AND diarrhea as side effects. How can you have both? Not everyone will get one of those, and some wont be effected at all. notfred
I'm perfectly willing to just treat the EPS symptoms, mine remit nicely. You should not be choosing meds based on what might happen. Better to find out for yourself, lest you miss a med that is perfect for you.
