Hi there! Just another newbie here!

Recommended Posts

Well, let's see, I am a mom of 3 ( 25, 22, 16) and a Mimi of 3 (8, 5, 4). I am married to a wonderfull man who has alot of patience (most days) dealing with my lack of particaption in many things. I have battled depression and anxiety off and on since the birth of my middle daughter 22 years ago. I have always had headaches as far back as I can remember. They escalated to migraines about 6 or 7 years ago, but have gotten really bad the past 3 years. I can 1 to 2 every week. I was on Celexa for a couple years and all it did was make me feel like I was in a fog and gain weight. My doctor has had me try many drugs to prevent them from anti-depressants to blood pressure medication. None have worked and only made me feel worse. I am currently taking Axert or Imitrex to abort a migraine when I feel one coming on and also Chlonazepam and cyclobenzaprine. Some days they work some days they don't. My Neuro says my migraines are genetic and obviously triggered also by weather, food, scents, stress! He has suggested botox injections but with me not able to work it isn't in our budget and I'm not a fan of that crap being injected into my nerves 41 times per visit! I'm biting the bullet today and I am finally going to submit my CPP Disability Application and Medical Form that has been filled out by my doc since last Septmember and myself a few months ago. I know it's a long shot and I held off because I am stubborn and hate to be defeated but I don't know what else to do to ease the financial stress load with my hubby the only one working, and to save an already shakey marriage. I have tried part-time jobs and I end up with so many "sick" days that I feel badly and a failure. Any suggestions in regards to handing in a personal letter along with my CPP Disability applications forms?

Hi, Gillybean. Welcome to Crazyboards and our lovely can of mixed nuts.

It sounds like you have had a tough time for a lot of years. For help with your question about the letter, go to this board:

http://www.crazyboards.org/forums/index.php/forum/53-law-money-and-employment-send-lawyers-guns-and-money/

Several of our members have gone through the process, so I bet someone will be able to advise you.

You might also mention which country you live in---is CCP the Canadian Disability? I don't recognize the acronym, so I'm assuming you aren't in the States. We have members all over the world, so someone will know what to do.

Please read the rules when you get a few minutes.

olga

Hi Gillybean - I don't know if any of the medications you mentioned are the same as Endep, but have you tried Amitriptyline (Endep) for your chronic pain? I had chronic headaches and the Amitriptyline relieved the headaches where analgesics didn't (It is an anti-depressant). A pain-specialist prescribed it. If, in the unlikely event, your doctors haven't tried you on this drug maybe you could speak to you Dr about it.
