The Daffodil Lion
Ive got a problem with an allergic reaction on my scalp/head, the problem is I don't know whats causing the allergy. I live in a hostel, and have done so for a year now. They change the bedding once a week which up til now had been fine. However in the last week or two my heads been getting really itchy when touching the pillow. Ive recently changed hair products to try and fix the issue and changed back after not noticing a difference. Ive asked the hostel if they are using different detergent on the bedding and they said it's the same. Ive just been given a special shampoo from my GP, but even my GP didn't know what was wrong specifically. The shampoo is for dandruff (which I don't have at all) and he gave it to me as a "just in case" measure. My scalp is a bit reder than normal, and Ive had a rash on the back of my head/neck. Does anyone have any ideas what it is? How I can figure out what it is, our how to avoid the itchyness? The only allergy I have is to a type of material foam that swimming pool toys and body boards are made of, and I havnt been anywhere near them in years. Alien Navel Cord
Have you ruled out lice? I had lice once, and it was terribly itchy. It also gave me a bit of a rash on the back of my head. The primary itchy spots were back of the head, above the ears, down by the neck. Just wondering if you had alraedy considered that.
Moody
Is there any type of foam or rubber in your pillow? I also have allergies to some types of foam, and it is possible to react to it even if it is covered with fabric. It is also possible to have a reaction after you have been using it for a while with no problem.

The Daffodil Lion
Just got home. Was indeed the anti biotics causing the allergy. But apparently it's penicillin thats the culprit which is weird as I've had that before and been fine. Its also worrying as I saw my GP on thursday and he perscribed me a week more anti biotics and I only took yesterdays and todays dose. What would have happened if I didnt check the side effects :/ Very glad I did right now.
