ArtlessAesthetic
But has anyone else experienced bowel issues on Mirtazipine? I'm trying to figure out if it's the dose increase or just a coincidence.
bluelikejazz
Mirtazapine commonly has anticholinergic side effects which includes things like dry mouth and constipation. I recommend you start taking fibre supplements and drinking lots of water.
ArtlessAesthetic
It's actually far too often rather than not enough, I really should have been clearer. If mirtazipine's known for causing constipation, It's probably just a coincidence then, or a wee bug. Thanks for your help. x
LikeMinded
Mirtazapine is also a 5HT-3 agonist, which sets the innards rumbling. Possibly it's why it makes one hungry. And definitely it's how it relieves my GERD symptoms, although it's not caused me diarrhea. Eating patterns may also figure into this... maybe I tend to not have issues since I eat my meals *much* later than normal (in fact, if I eat breakfast in the morning, it goes out the other end as quickly as my body can do so; this was prior to me taking any meds at all!).
