Two weird side effects on Prozac/Zyprexa

Recommended Posts

I've been having two weird side effects lately. I take Prozac and Zyprexa.

The first side effect is stuff happening in my sleep. I sleep walk now, I talk in my sleep, I sleep eat, I fall out of the bed and rip the alarm out of the wall, then plug it back in and reset it, all in my sleep, all of this with absolutely zero recollection in the morning. It's like being black out drunk, but I'm totally sober.

The other is looking up. I mean, literally, looking up. I can't stop doing it. While I'm driving, I find my eyes drifting up to the sky instead of watching the cars ahead of me. When I'm walking, I'm staring up at the sky or skyscrapers constantly. My eyes just seem to be magnetically attracted to looking up, I can't help it. I've tried searching the internet for something like this but it's so hard to find any information on it.

Please tell me anyone out there has experienced these.

Oculogyric Crisis is a common dystonic reaction to antipsychotics. It can present in different ways, the most common is where a person feels strongly compelled to look up.

Wow. You just blew my mind. I can't believe it's real!

Yes, it is real and very treatable. Speak to your doc. In the meantime, benadryl works for many dystonic reactions.

I wasnt a big fan of Zyprexa, but if it's works for you, that's great!

I remember I had some weird side effects, like my spatial reasoning got weird, and I felt really disconnected. I also remember drinks being so good, like that feeling when you get to a drink being real thirsty.
