Klonopin ct withdrawal

Recommended Posts

Okay since I'm on ritalin my doc won't prescribe me klonopin and I have been off of it since last thursday which is good. I have gabapentin to help with the mental anguish and I have been doing good but, my problem is I am having nightmares veery night since I stopped. I mean like there about my faith and how I am destined to go to hell. WHich I don't believe and I know there just dreams but, I'm like Really?. So is this normal to have these nightmares..... I'm blessed to say they havn't caused my OCD to spike and there just making me stronger in resisting rumination....

Benzo withdrawal is serious and potentially dangerous.  Only two substance withdrawals can kill you -- alcohol and benzos.  It was outrageously stupid and dangerous for your doc to make you go cold-turkey off benzos.  You need to go back to your pdoc and tell him to put you on a taper schedule.  .  You must be firm with your pdoc on this.  if s/he won't give you a taper schedule then go find another doc.

As for your question, yes it is totally normal.  It is possibly rebound anxiety.

And if any mod here tells me that I am giving medical advice -- I am not.  I speak from my education and personal experience.  Not all docs are sensitive to benzo withdrawals.  I know my first pdoc wasn't and my withdrawals were horrific.  This is not something to fuck with.

Sorry if I am freaking you out but this is a serious matter and should be dealt with appropriately.

UGH! I have to wait tell friday until I can see him.....I think he will be okay on the slow taper and it's better then nothing so I'm willing to wait.... I just know from experience how some docs will just yank you off a benzo like a doc did in the hospital off of xanax 1 mg four times a day and it was probably close to the worst experience next to my big psychotic break in 05.....Benzo withdrawals feel like your going crazy but, your still sane..... so it make you more sensitive to the effects of not having the darn drug.....I really just wanted to stop ct but, I can see now that I can't do that.
