sonicwhite
I think mainly what makes the biggest problem of withdrawaling from a benzo is this....When you hear horror stories and worry whether you are going to go thru the same hell as others...I took very less then I was prescribed....I took the rest of my pills and broke them in half....So I have a fighting chance. I know that I had problems in the past because I listened to ppl's expereince of what they went thru....Gabapentin is very good for withdrawal but, you have to take a large amount for me to feel anything. I have been really going thru a lower dose of klonopin for a good week so I think I'm on the right track....Would any of you agree that it's the fear and worrying of withdrawal is alot of the problem.? bluechick
Everyone is different. Not everyone that takes benzos suffers withdrawals. Your best bet is to talk to your pdoc and ask for a proper taper schedule. It doesn't have to be as hard as you're making it out in your mind. Velvet Elvis
I went through klon withdrawl over Christmas because I lost my bottle and my pdoc was out of the office for a few weeks. Here's what happened: I felt like shit for about 4 days. That's it. That's all. I was on 2 mgs. If you're on a higher dose it could get dicey and you should always follow your pdoc's instructions. It's nowhere near as bad as trying to quit smoking. After that I felt fine. I just couldn't sleep. I then got a refill and started taking it again, although at only 1mg.
