Seroquel - Visual Hallucinations?

So, Monday was the first night I took my Seroquel (300mg.) My p-doc put me on it fr my auditory hallucinations/voices.

 

About a hour after taking it, not only was I drowsy & dizzy (which I didn't mind,) I also had visual hallucinations. I was seeing flashing lights, and I also thought I went downstairs to tell my dad  about what I was feeling, but realized that I was still in bed. 

 

So, I looked it up, and it's one of the side effects - I get to call my p-doc tomorrow about it. I think since it wasn't a lower dose, I wasn't able to go to sleep right away, and maybe that's why I hallucinated?

 

But is that a normal side effect?

Seroquel did cause some weirdness with falling asleep for me. Not to the extent you had but sort of being half asleep and half awake. Kinda like dreaming before falling asleep.

A similar thing happened to me with Abilify. It gave me auditory and visual hallucinations. I told my doctor and quit the medication. The hallucinations went away

Sometimes I get weird colour visual things happening just before I go to sleep, and I take seroquel before then. I think it's because it makes you (well it did when I started it) super drowsy. I would swear I had told my ex things, so I would try to continue the conversation with him in the morning, and then he looked at me like I was crazy, because I never said those things. I hope your doc can help you out. I'm not sure if that's common starting dose where you are, but I was started on like 25 mg and it still felt weird.
