rowan77
I was on Seroquel XR 400mg for almost 2 years. I had to take it no later than 7:30pm or I would be so sleepy next morning Then when I became manic last December I was first put on 600mg for a day or 2, then 800mg, my current dose. The thing is I am no longer sedated.......at all. In fact my pdoc had to put me on a sleeping tablet, zopiclone 7.5mg and I am back to sleeping about 8hrs. Has this happened anybody else?? Basically it was the 400mg that made me sleepy and hungover snd now on the doubled dose I can't sleep without a hypnotic
Wonderful.Cheese
This happened to me as well. I was on 800mg for a very long time and it did not make me sleepy anymore. Can you try to split the dose(s) during the day? I mean, I know it's XR, but maybe you could even take some IR at bedtime. Just like 25-100mg. I'm not sure what you have tried in the past. Yeah, I know how bad it sucks when even seroquel doesn't help you sleep anymore! But those higher doses are not hitting the histamine so much. (Correct me if I'm wrong) And from my understanding it is that which is needed to make most people drowsy enough to sleep. Just some things to discuss with your pdoc. Also you could discuss good sleep hygiene with your tdoc. (Although if you are like me I KNOW you KNOW all about that stuff! To the point of reciting it practically!) Good luck and keep us posted! enlightened_plutonian
My Seroquel no longer sedates me either. I even take a morning dose and I don't feel sedated during the day. It was since increasing the dose that this happened.

Gearhead
Seroquel is more sedating at low doses than at high doses, so your reaction makes sense. As long as you're getting sleep, keep taking the zopiclone and count your blessings. I'm on Seroquel and Ambien, myself.
