Do any of you guys know of a sleeping pill that Aetna insurance or Medicaid cover? Or a cheap sleeping pill? My insurance is out for now and the ones I do have won't pay for lunesta anymore.

When I tried Ambien it was covered.

 

To note though is that I do have Aetna, and Medicaid, but I also have Medicare which might have been the one to cover it.  Not sure though.  But it is worth a try.

 

Also, have you asked your DR about melatonin?  That works for some people.

doxepin should put you right to sleep, and even if it isn't covered, it costs $4 at walmart. i'm pretty sure it would be covered though. it's an old, cheap medicine.

Have you tried trazodone? It's also dirt cheap. It works for a lot of people.

I liked trazodone. Benadryl works for some people but after a few hours I would wake up and get a restless legs type deal.

Temazepam is cheap, and good for sleep. There's also mirtazapine, but it's a little more than temazepam. I took mirtazapine for 3 years as an AD/sleep agent and it worked consistently.

Ambien yes. Though if you need to take a sleeping pill regularly, you should probably go with something like trazadone to avoid getting hooked like a fish. I only take ambien once or twice a month because I'm deathly scared of getting suckered into its sweet, sweet bosom.
