I have no interest in having sex...

Recommended Posts

As a male, for some reason I have never really had a big sex drive. I don't think I can blame any meds for this since I was that way before I ever started taking medication back in the late 90's. I started to pleasure myself at a young age (like 10 years old or so when I discovered my dads magazine collection) and wonder if this is why my sex drive is the way it is. I guess up until I was 18 or so, perhaps my sex drive was there then but I don't recall.

I've dated a good number of women, and with all of them, they would complain for the lack of sex. I'm now married, 38 years old, and it's the same thing for my wife, she hates the lack of sex.

Here's the shocker, I can go weeks with no sex. Heck, the last year or so, I don't even care to pleasure myself but would have to blame the depression for this. I started my current bout in late January.

All of this is very unfair for my wife. What the heck is wrong with me.

Masturbation is natural and certainly wouldn't cause a low sex drive in your adulthood.  Apparently low-testostorone can do it though.  You should discuss it with your doctor.  Maybe you can get a prescription for a hormone supplement if that's the problem, or viagra if it doesn't interact with any meds you may be on.

You're right though.  It's not great for your marriage.  Make sure you talk to your wife so she understands it's not her fault.  We women tend to blame ourselves in that situation.

There are therapies that include body work that opens up the energy paths in the body. This could increase your sensitivity and interest. The Path is one group, Bio energetics is another. People trained at the Barbara Brennon School can help with this.

It can sound weird but it really helps.

Snuggleing with your wife and sexual play that doesn't include your orgasm can help her, too.
