Life Charting

Recommended Posts

I've been life charting using the NIMH life-charting format. It has been a huge help to make me more aware of my moods and help predict and counteract mood swings. It still doesn't eliminate the big swings, but it helps.

My pdoc and tdoc love it because they can compare my subjective evaluation with their clinical assessment. In fact, they wanted me to bring in all of the information so that they could use it with other patients. Of course, I'm VERY analytical. B) so it works well for me. may not work well for others.

Anyone else try this. Success? How long did you do it?

Heya,

So far, I like it.  Three months and counting, daily.

But then I consider myself a scientist. I like numbers and comparisons.

Works well for me -- I like to make sense of such things.  So does my FP.

Dumb question here. Is life charting just the same as a mood chart, or more involved? Right now I chart mood, meds, and hours of sleep, but that's about it. I've been wondering lately if charting other things would be more helpful.
