bookgirl
I've been on Saphris for a few months now and it's really helping me feel stable. However, my interest in sex has diminished to virtually nothing, and I can't have an orgasm when I do try. My pdoc says she's never heard of this with this med and that it's probably depression. The thing is, depression has never dampened my sex drive, so I don't think it's that. Has anyone had this side effect from Saphris?
Ohmy
A quick google search found that ~1 % of people on asenapine (aka saphris) get sexual dysfunction. Would post a link, but it's in finnish so I doubt it would be helpful But the source is reputable. Funny how your pdoc 'never heard of it', makes my paranoid mind all, well, paranoid Here's sth in english: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a610015.html What side effects can this medication cause? decreased sexual ability Edited May 1, 2013 by Ohmy

bookgirl
Thank you! My pdoc probably meant that she had never (yet) had a patient report this side effect. Guess I'm the first.
