MandJane
I am on 100mg a.m. Quetiapine and 300mg at night . I don't mind the sedation at night BUT the 100mg in the morning makes me completely out of it! I have only been on it for a week and they said the sedatory effect will lessen and I won't feel I have to sleep . Is this true? Will it lessen? tryp
It does tend to lessen with time, though the IR does pack quite a punch. Is it the instant release stuff? Sometimes the XR is better for taking in the morning. My morning dose is XR and it definitely makes me less likely to spend the whole day asleep. bookgirl
Personally, the sedating effect never wore off with me, so I take all mine at night.
Wonderful.Cheese
I take 400am and 200mg at pm. I find lower doses to be more sedating. Others here do as well. I can easily stay awake on the 400mg but at night the 200mg and trazodone and klonopin help me sleep. Maybe you could ask your pdoc to reverse your doses? Just an idea. dancingteapot
the lower doses are much, much, much more sedating than the higher doses. i don't know how someone can take 100mgs of the stuff during the day and function!
tryp
I honestly never found the lower doses to be more sedating. When I was on 600, I was just as zonked as I am on 200.
