What is your goal for today?

Hi Everyone

 

Just thought I'd start this thread so people can share their daily goals and if they managed to achieve them.

 

I thought we could support each other in completing our daily goals and possibly share how we accomplished them and how we felt upon achieving them.

 

So:

 

What is your goal for today?

1. To groom myself - pluck eyebrows, shave, do nails...  Didn't do

2. To make sweet tea and some lemonade  --- done

3. To sort thru my clothes and wear something different   Didn't do

4. To clean the kitchen --- Didn't do

5. To peruse the internet to learn more about my medications -- done

 

Haven't done many of my goals yet; it's early though and hopefully I'll remember this list and get motivated.  

Update:  blaming the side effects of meds for not being productive whatsoever; did drink a lot of tea and lemonade at the least.

Good idea for a topic, angel!

 

1. Get everything straightened out for school this semester, which is going to involve anxiety-provoking things like confronting my financial advisor and/or the registrar face-to-face and probably writing a check :/.

2. Finally register for classes if/when I get the above situation resolved.

3. Make it to my therapy appointment on time.

4. Get some med-related blood work done. 

5. Shower, brush teeth, etc.

6. Brave the horrors of Wal-Mart for some cat food and a few other essentials.

1.  Walk to CVS.

2.  Laundry ... got that done.

3.  Empty trash ... got that done.

4.  Shower.

1.  To get some exercise outside, possibly on my bike.

2.  To work on some artwork

3.  To see if I'm registered for a savings card the pdoc gave me for latuda

4.  To write down my class schedule for the upcoming semester

5.  To modify the syllabus for the class I'm teaching this semester

6.  To try to plan my trip to the FL keys this winter

Koakua- I wish I could manage to do some artwork and would love to plan a trip too.   I hope you reach your goals for the day.

1.) Register for my college my fall courses (I'm LATE)

2.) Go running in the evening

3.) Meet with a friend before he leaves for college

4.) To catch up on Devious Maids (TV show)

5.) To order flowers for a family members grave ( 8/14 is the anniversary of their death) 

6.) Pick my ADHD prescription

1. Do more laundry. Done.

2. Give my neighbor cinnamon rolls. Done. (Extra bonus - it turns out it's his birthday!)

3. Make a p-doc appointment. Done.

4. Pay part of my rent. Done. Also found out how to pay my utilities bill off in easy installments, and that my cancelled credit card is almost paid off. Yay! Also paid the $20 due on my cable bill. I'm now up to date on everything except the utilities, and I  have a plan for that.

5. Finish sending my tax information to the IRS.

6. Call in for work, and send my availability for this week. Half done. I have to put in my times.

7. Wash my kitchen floor.

8. Write a story.

 

This is a great idea! Thank you!

 

If it weren't for being slightly hypomanic today, none of this would be getting done.

Gym - Check!

 

Shower - About to get around to it, hey!

 

Take meds - So far so good!

 

Get some knitting done - Not yet!

 

Maybe read? - Not yet!

 

Seems kinda pathetic. But hey, small steps!

Grocery shopping.  Unpleasant conditions apply, such as head cold, no money for cab fare--if I had friends with a car I'd ask them, but I don't--and store not being on any transit line from my building.  1 mile.  It's tempting to lie down and let my cats eat me, but I wouldn't last forever and I'm probably not very good for them anyway with all the drugs in my system.

 

So.  ~~cough~~  Grocery store.

^ I just made tea and lemonage and perused the internet; you made progress today b/c now you have food in house.  I just have stuff to drink and leftovers.

Heh, angel_heart, congratulations would be in order if I had really gone and done the shopping.  Instead I felt crappy, took a big nap, and am now re-hydrating some camping food from 2006 since that's all I have left.  The packaging indicates it doesn't expire until 2015, so it must be good, right?  No cookie for me.

 

Mmm, goat (cheese, which I do not have).

Aside from needing to get rid of this headache, my only goal for Tuesday (at least atm) is to rest and stay inside out of the humidity and rain.

 

Actually I need to wash my hair today.

For 08/13/13, my main goal is to be more mindful of what  I'm eating.  And  have a handful of small goals:

1. Stay extra Hydrated   (make more lemonade and tea)

2. Take a shower

3. Visit my parents

      When I look at the thread "What is your Goal for Today?" I regret starting it; I thought it would motivate me to accomplish things. A daily reminder of how I should set goals.

      It hasn't. I simply reminds me of how I can't seem to make plans and follow thru with them. This morning, I look at the thread and it saddens me.

      They're things I have to do, things I should do and things I would like to do. I ask myself what is stopping me. I don't have a positive answer to this question. Laziness, bad habits, low initiative, low motivation, or my MI.

      I'd say it's a combination of all five answers. How pathetic is that? It's pathetic and I am making myself feel bad.

      My goal for today really isn't a goal. Is driving to my tdocs' office a goal? I don't think so.

      This morning, I have to shower, find clothes to wear, put on make up. And those I will accomplish b/c I have to.

      The clothes on the chairs, the dishes in the sink, the laundry, tidying up, going someplace should be my goals for today. They're not.

      What I can manage is to go see my tdoc with clean body, clean clothes and make up on.

      I'm impressed with others on here who can make a list and accomplish them. It would be nice if I could too.
      But I'm realistic; I won't accomplish much today.
      Damn it.

      I've quit soda before, but only the caffeinated version. Now it's my goal to go off all soda entirely, eventually. My goal is to make it to June 28th, cheat on my vacation (until July 6th), then go totally off it again. 
       
      I was wondering if you have any tips for quitting the soda. I've been having a lot of trouble with not drinking it lately. I let myself cheat on vacation and found myself going back to having four cups a day. Obviously, that's not healthy to maintain over time... so I was hoping you all had some support even though it's not alcohol. 
       
      Any advice appreciated. If this is in the wrong forum please let me know. 
       
      Just trying to figure out how to start again.

      So here is a TedTalk about a woman who is also a game designer, who got post concussion syndrome and turned her recovery into a game. I went into it thinking that it was probably going to be really dumb, and at the start of the video I sort of hated her voice and hated her for being so cheery (I must be PMSing because I'm really usually quite cheery myself and certainly not this full of hate hahahah)
       
      Anyhow, in the end she won me over and made me smile and I think I'm going to try this absolutely ridiculous game called superbetter.

      -To Function. * To be able to make a list of things and complete it. To Pick something I want. And do it.

      - A plan. To get me there.

      - A Psychiatrist.

      - To work. On my mental health- before I hit rock bottom.

      - To stop self editing, to learn to self advocate, or at least gain the confidence to do so.

      - For someone to finally hear me. And not placate me about how smart I am or how well I appear to be coping, because it doesn't help. And I need Help.



      This is just something I wrote out for counseling homework this week, and to get the thoughts out of my brain felt really great. I feel like this is solid, like I am communicating very clearly.
