Apokalypz
A good percentage of the general population have hallucinations while going to sleep/waking up; these being called hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations. My question is how often is normal for the general population? I have these very often, to the point that it doesn't even freak me out anymore, I just wait for it to pass. And they are a lot more detailed and 'real' than the normal visual hallucinations I have during the day from sz. So I'm wondering if it happens more in sz (when not already in a psychotic episode) than in normal people. I've also noticed that I have a staggering amount of lucid dreams. Though my constant reality checking probably has a lot to do with the lucid dreaming part.
sonicwhite
There's really know way of telling but I do have them too. Live I hear the fan sound like it turns off and on.....Sometimes I will hear solid audible voices but like you I no longer get scared of them. SeaUrchin
I hate dreams. I have enough trouble working out what's real and what's not without having to worry about whether I dreamed it or not. I don't get the hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations though. Interesting question!
