Antipsychotics sexual problems (prolactin?)

Does anyone know how much sexual dysfunction is attributed to prolactin instead of how/what receptor the med blocks if that makes any sense?

 

and anyone out there that already had sexual problems while taking antipsychotics recover after switching to a new med like abilify?

 

I take 75mg invega sustenna for psychosis and it has totally obliterated my sex drive and gave me sexual dysfunction...

I think this is something you should bring up with your pdoc, given that you have posted about sexual issues related to anti-psychotics three or four times already.  I really hope your pdoc can steer you towards a med that will have fewer side effects for you.

Been on 100mg Invega Sustenna for 10 months. It gave me anhedonia and destroyed my sex drive. I have none. My nipples are also swollen and are sensitive.

 

3 months off the medication so far and still no improvements. Losing hope every day.

 

Talked to doctor about it but there's nothing they can do. There is no known antidote for invega sustenna, and it has a really long half life and will stay in your body for a good year after your last injection. It has been the worst experience of my life. I cannot describe in words how horrible it is to go through this every day.

 

I feel you, revv. I really hope you can figure out how to feel better. How long must you take this med for?

probably for the rest of my life I need to take it for psychosis

I had sexual dysfunction on risperdal.  I switched to Latuda and it is much better.  Wellbutrin also can help.
