Butterflykisses
When I was hospitalized 2 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder- bipolar type and put on Geodon. I take 40 mg in AM and 120 mg PM = 160 mg. My current pdoc agrees with the diagnosis and the dose of Geodon is good for me. I don't have hardly any side effects except sleepiness after my 120 mg PM dose, and dry mouth. What are the common Geodon doses for someone with schizoaffective disorder? Just curious
Savannah
I am bipolar with psychosis and take 160mg. This worked well with lamactal for years, . Unfortunately, now I need seroquel and prolixin too.
Luna-
I think 160mg is a common dose, that's what I was on, too.
Reverse The Polarity
I took 80mg for several months, eventually bumped it to 120mg. I took it once daily. I found that it was very effective for my symptoms at the time and gave me a boost in mood, but the side effects weren't worth it after a while. Which was unfortunate because otherwise I didn't mind the drug.

I take 80mg also and good GOD it's the only thing that helps the depression, and it feels like it squashes a bunch of it almost overnight, but I'm at a point where the side effects are becoming a serious concern for my physical health. I was supposed to wean off of it and back onto an SSRI, but that just was not cutting it and went back to the Geodon. I start seeing a new doc soon, I hope we can figure this out.
