jt07
I don't understand the question. So basically you took too many meds and slept it off? I'm sorry for your children, but I don't think there will be any lasting effects for you. (Note: I am NOT a doctor.) Can you talk to the doctor who prescribed the Neulactil? Also, I might add that there are members of this board who would find the term "skitzo" highly offensive.
MiaB
I'm not sure what you're asking. We can't tell you if you did or didn't take your ex housemates meds. If you were hospitalised and comatose as you say, I presume the professionals would have done appropriate tests then. Also, I might add that there are members of this board who would find the term "skitzo" highly offensive. Agreed. This is very offensive. MiaB
Seriously, I don't know what you're asking. Your first post is extremely difficult to follow. What I think you're saying is: 1. you took some immovane 2. you sleep walked into your housemate's bedroom (though you refer to her as your "ex" housemate, which begs the question, how did you get to her bedroom? Or did this all happen a while ago?) 3. while sleep walking you swallowed some of her meds 4. you left your 5 year old unattended but during this blackout also had two car crashes with your kids 5. somewhere along the way you were comatose and hospitalised 6. now you want to know if your "skitzo" ex-housemate's meds could have done this to you ??? Seriously, I'm not trying to be nasty (and neither was jt07), but you're not making sense. And you're also forgetting that we're not doctors and couldn't possibly tell you (even if we understood what happened) what sort of longterm effects her meds could have had on you. People with experience on these mexications will be able to help out. What medications? You said "NeulactilSerequil". I don't know what Neulactil is, and I assume the second one is seroquel. If you look at my signature you'll see I'm positively rolling in seroquel, and have been for years, but I still couldn't tell you if you took it or what it might have done to you. If you're really so worried, see a doctor! Edited December 9, 2013 by miab

jt07
The answer is probably the meds could have done this to you. If you are not used to Seroquel, it is not uncommon to sleep all night and the next day until your body adjusts to it. I'm not familar with the other med and can't answer as to that. If you are concerned, contact your doctor.
MiaB
Again, I'm not a doctor or any kind of medical professional Without knowing how much you took, this is a total shot in the dark. However, if you're not used to seroquel (a powerful antipsychotic which does have sedative properties), I wouldn't be surprised if taking it on top of a sleeping pill would knock you out. And I also wouldn't be surprised if that were compounded by whatever other meds you managed to swallow. You really need to get yourself checked out asap, either by your family doctor or your psychiatrist if you have one. If I were you, I would also be extremely, extremely hesitant about continuing to take imovane if it's causing you to sleepwalk. Particularly if you are responsible for young children. For their safety and your own, please speak to a professional, even if it's not the one you regularly see. This isn't something you should screw around with; you need to take it seriously. MiaB
Oh, come on now. We both gave you insight on seroquel, suggested that continuing to take imovane might be risky, and recommended that you see a doctor sooner rather than later. Trust me, that's not slamming. Not even remotely so. Nobody here - I mean, not a single other member of CrazyBoards - can give you advice that substitutes what you might get from a doctor. Again, that's not slamming. That's just the reality. This is a peer support forum. The support I am giving you, as your peer, is to say that your situation sounds serious, and I have been around the block enough to know that when things are serious, you need professional help. eta I know your doctor is away. There are other doctors out there. Edited December 9, 2013 by miab
jt07
I'm sorry, but I am not slamming you. We just needed to understand the problem, and you clarified it. I'm sorry if anything I said makes you feel slammed. Unfortunately, we can't give you a more definitive answer because we are not doctors. miab has experience with Seroquel. If your doctor is away and you need answers now, go to the ER. I understand that you don't know whether you took your room mates meds or whether it was your own med that caused the blackout. As miab has said, if you have small children be careful taking these meds.
mellifluous
As stated, my dr is away. And as we all know, the drs aren't always right and don't usually have "personal" experience with a majority of medications. in this case...pretty much ONLY a doctor can give you "right" information on your situation. you don't even know what all the meds are. they're all different. that's kinda the point of there being so many. Hence why I came here.....to actually talk about this with people who personally have experience with such meds. you come here seeking the help of people you call "skitzo" ...FYI: that's a slur. it deosn't matter if your 'ereferencing your ex houemate..you don't get to use racial slurs to reference someone in a crowd of non caucasians.... you dont' fucking call one of us a skitzo ! and if you didn't mean to offend...apologize already and stop using the term. According to Google neulactil is an anti psycotic and can be used short term for sleep. But again that's google and not someone's actual experience. yes, those have sedative propertis. i dont' know how much you took and nobody else does. you need to get a tox screen. and i don't know anything about "ad's" which i'm assuming are antidepresants...msot people with schizophrenia can't take those. with the seroquel and any other antipsychotic, how long it'll be in your system depends on the type and dosage. if you can identify not just categories of medications but formulation and release...or maybe it's in a weekly thing? she may well be able to count up and tell you if you can explain satisfactorily how you go over there and open four separate what i assume are child proof bottles. she should be advised to keep her prescriptions in a secure location. if she won't tell you,....maybe because *how dare you* take her meds and then call her "skitzo" like she's the one who messed up in this situation...get a tox screen. that's the only way. Just looking for a little kind insight however I feel as tho I'm being slammed. Which I didn't come here to be. I'm slamming myself enough and I actually thought I could find some kind usefull people to give me a little understanding of what these meds can do so I could stop slamming myself so much for what I did. dood....you ask for advice from people you call someone with OUR SAME DIAGNOSIS by a pejorative term for our illness. i don't feel even a little bit badly about you being put in your place...i think it's pretty ballsy to play victim when you're coming in being offensive. Screw that. Ill never touch the stuff again. yeah....duh. don't take other people's prescriptions. Thank you for your help. you're welcome. MiaB
Since the OP has "helpfully" deleted all his/her posts, including the title to this thread, perhaps a mod could just lock the damn thing? Since, you know, it'll no longer make sense to anybody other than those of us who took the time to engage with the OP. Thanks.
