Ok, I went to the pdoc yesterday on an emergency basis because my BP depression  is getting out of control [see my post on the bp board.]

He uped my Lexapro from 20mg once a day to 20mg twice a day. Welbutrain 300mgs in the morning, and my seroquel stayed the same at 50mg at night.

And he added 1000 mg of depakote. In two days i go up to 1500mg.

And i see him again on wed

Dunno... seems pretty drastic... but at the same time desperate times call for desperate mesures yes?

I guess I'm looking for experiances, good and bad, with depakote or with this sort of combination. Any input?

As a starting point, check out this thread for some positive Depakote experiences:

Best of luck with your new cocktail. I hope that you feel a lot better, and soon.

Oh, and no, your pdoc is not trying to kill you. Promise.

Todd.

Hey Adnama,

I am doing something similar with the Depakote, only at a lower dose, 750 mg.

I just had a depressive flipout on my regular lithium; increased it and added Zyprexa, which worked miracles; got mildly manic, dragged around on a Zyprexa mini-dose, dropped it and got mixed; added Depakote; felt better, but had one more flipout, and had to go back on Zyprexa for it; dropped all meds in despair; added back lithium, then Depakote. It's been a busy five weeks.

I can't tell I'm taking it, except that when I stop, I get skittery ... distractible, irresponsible, obsessive about ridiculous things and utterly purposeless about important ones.  (I could probably avoid this with lithium alone, but not without some cognitive impairment).  I'm not sure yet whether I love it forever, but I did ask to go back on until things are stable.  (We're talking about Lamictal again, but who has time for the titration when things are like this?)

Feel better soon,

sg
