Parapluie
That's awful. I hope that kid feels horrible for killing 4 people, at least.
crtclms
The pdoc was a dimwit, too. I saw Anderson Cooper interview him, and he evaded the questions, and tried to imply Cooper was playing the race card when he asked about a recent case where a 14 year-old black boy was sentenced to 20 years after killing someone with a punch (not the "knock out" game). I mean, Cooper said the kid was black, but in this case, it really sounded like it was code for "working or lower class." AND, the pdoc seemed like a real moron. I think the defense made up the theory, and spoon fed it to him, and he was stupid enough to think it made perfect sense. I believe the parents of the boy won't be able to see him for the first few years of his "rehab," so at least that would be good.
hagar
I wouldn't be at all surprised if the parents paid off the judge or had some other kind of connection to her. I mean, it's Texas and they're ultra wealthy. The dots connect themselves. ..That sounds paranoid, but it's not like that's unheard of in our criminal "justice" system. What a joke. CrankyMe
I agree, hagar.....Texas is a place where the Boy's Club has a strong and healthy membership. A friend of a friend whispering in the ear of the judge....I can absolutely see it. Racism is running hot & heavy in the US (not to mention the world) but, of course, white people want to deny it up, down, sideways and backwards. But just a cursory scan of court cases and punishment meted out tells us it is still going strong, on very real and very high levels. It's sickening. neptunesky
I'm glad to live in the Uk, I'm not saying our system is perfect, but if there's evidence, you will get arrested and face charges in Court and a Prison sentence, it doesn't matter if your wealthy or not.
