New Guy says "Hi"

Recommended Posts

I started posting already, but I thought it would be good manners to introduce myself to you all.

I'm 56-years-old, and have been on the roller coaster from hell since I was about 17. My current DX is Bipolar II, ADHD, Social Phobia, and attendant symptoms/comorbidities (e.g., hoarding, OCD, depression, etc.), but who knows what refinements to that DX will happen over time. It does seem to get tweaked on a regular basis.

I've been in extremely dark places for years, maybe decades at a time, but I'm relatively stable now. I wouldn't call myself happy, content, or cured, but I've definitely got a better handle on things. I see a great Pdoc and he and others have saved my life. I'll always be grateful to them.

I'm on a pretty mild set of meds right now, as compared to previously. I take low-doses of Trazodone and Zoloft (just started the Sertraline again), and I take Ritalin, and Ambien. I've been on Lamotrigine, tri-cyclics, many SSRIs, and probably some other things I'll remember later (I never kept a list, much to my regret).

I really like this forum. In the few days I've been here it has seemed very compassionate, caring, and respectful. I'll try and be that way, too. I've read the Rules; even that last bit about Ripple Cramps, or whatever it was... I forget.

Welcome to our happy asylum.  It sounds like you have traveled a very long and lonesome road.  I hope we can offer some support and friendship.  Don't be shy about contacting a mod or admin if there is anything you don't understand.
