How much more tax on cigarettes in Australia?

Recommended Posts

I think at some point there will be negative ramifications of these price increases. It is just so hard on the poor, which includes a lot of the mentally ill. Sooner or later we won't be able to afford our meds, our housing, utilities, food etc.

For me, cigarettes are a higher priority than any of my other expenses. I'm guessing it is the same for others. I will smoke regardless, but as they get more expensive, other things like healthy food, fitness and medical care will be neglected. Not having money for social/leisure activities is also detrimental to our health.

Maybe they are doing this so we will be forced to work?

they are, included in the gov costs per year to the tax payer, they include/detract/whatever allowance for shorter lives = shorter careers = less tax paid

healthcabin.net has everything to get going on e-cigs, much, much cheaper
