My pdoc increased my risperidone dose from 1 mg to 3 mg yesterday. I felt so bad the whole time, I was lying in my bed feeling like a zombie, sweating like a pig and even shivering a bit.

Thing is I ended up throwing up in the middle of the night.

Can it be the Risperidone? Or did I just eat something that I should't?

THANKS!

I was on the very lowest dose (I think it was 2 mg?) for only about 3 weeks. While on it I was nauseaus most of the time I was on it. I actually was kind of glad about this, because I was worried about the Risperdal causing and increased appetite and therefore weight gain, but the opposite happened, and I felt like I couldn't eat that much (and usually I'm a huge eater.) I even felt like I had more control over the portions of food I ate, because I would feel full after a 'normal' portion of food, whereas normally I have a huge appetite.

Risperdal did make me feel very nauseated most of the time I was on it, but I didn't get sick from it, but I was on the very lowest dose available. If I had stayed on it, I might have been able to lose weight, for the first time in my life (because my 'normal' appetite is huge).

Thanks for the replies. I am still having problems with this particular AAP. I will bring it up with my physician (meaning I am gonna beg him to lower the dose) and post here anything relevant.

EDIT: btw, I threw up the next day again and have, since then, really watched what I eat; just like Lisa above this comment, I seem to eat less.
