I used to have really bad mood swings, seemingly alternating between severe depression and anger/anxiety.  I still do get angry a lot of the time, but it has been a lot less since I started on Lamictal.  That said, I completely lost my shit at work a few weeks ago and had meltdown in office where I smashed my keyboard into pieces.  I know all about irrational anger.

Anyway, per your question, I can't say if Lamictal contributes to my occasional anger outbursts, but I do believe that it lessens it a lot of the time.  My anxiety has decreased dramatically since I started on Lamictal, not that I don't still freak out from time to time.

Good to have another metal head on CB.  Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one.  Listening to Amon Amarth right now as I write this...

Hi draco I don't get like that on lamictal, but some people find it activating so I can understand how that would happen. I don't know much about trileptal.  Maybe talk to your pdoc about something less activating when you talk about the anger.

While I was titrating up on it, it made me "wired" and restless, which translated into irritability. As I've gotten to a stable therapeutic dose, though, I've found that it's decreased my anxiety and irritability.

Crazymeds might have some better info, and drugs.com has a great interactions checker, too, in case that might prove relevant. If you're in doubt, it's certainly legitimate to bring up with the prescribing doc. Anger issues are shitty.
