blueroses99
My doctor had me do a DNA swab to test against medications. I'm currently on Latuda 160mg and still having psych symptoms and it is just not cutting it on its own. I'm also on valium 5mg for anxiety 3x a day celexa 20mg Depakote 1500mg I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about this procedure, if it yielded good results in getting a good med for stabilizing ect. I know it is covered by medicaid so I would assume it has to be relatively common. Thank you everyone.
exl2398
I had that done sometime in the last year. It was discovered that I was practically immune to antidepressants. ECT for me! Heh. Insurance paid for mine, too.
blueroses99
Wow, that is crazy. I had heard of this procedure for other types of meds (pain meds, ect) but not for psych meds. I have Schizoaffective disorder and have been med resistant for a long time. So I hope there is an answer here for me to get the right meds. Does anyone know how long it takes to get results? melissaw72
I've never heard of this test but it sounds interesting. Thanks for posting; something to keep in the back of my mind if needed.
wj74
I didn't even know that was possible! Cool. Right now the pdoc has been trying my son on my meds and it works.
blueroses99
Yep folks, it is totally possible. I think it is pretty good myself. I won't know the results until March 6th but I can post an update to see how it worked out for me.
