blueroses99
So, I take Latuda 160mg, Vailum 5mg, Celexa 20mg, and Depakote 1500mg None of these meds are new but recently I've felt like shit everyday until I take at least 3 hours worth of a nap. Does anyone else out there feel this way on their cocktails or have any knowledge as to why this is? I sleep reasonably well at night and get up at a reasonable time in the morning. This has been going on for about two weeks.
Phoenix_Rising
I nap almost daily and am in the process of cutting back on some benzos and increasing the stimulant that I'm taking. I would talk with your pdoc about your concerns and see what (s)he thinks about altering your combo so you're not as sleepy.
olga
I agree with Phoenix. Especially if you are in good health otherwise and not elderly, it's odd to need a 3-hour nap. Having said that, when I was taking Cymbalta for my antidepressant, I took a 2-hour nap every day, plus I was sleeping 9-10 hours every night. Eventually I realized that this wasn't a good thing for me and my doctor switched my AD to Wellbutrin. olga
blueroses99
Thanks guys, I'll bring it up next visit. My concern is I have been on these meds awhile and did not have this problem until recently with them.
CeremonyNewOrder
I'm also having a problem with becoming suddenly fatigued though my pdoc does not think its my meds because I'm not on as sedative meds. I am currently working with my general doctor to find an underlying reason. Maybe you could check your thyroid?
blueroses99
Thyroid has already been checked several times b/c my mother has a thyroid condition. No one has mentioned anything about anything being wrong with it.
wj74
I go through these spurts every now and then, I wake up and just feel like shit and crawl back to bed, sleep a couple of hours and wake up better. I know they say you can't really catch up on lost sleep but I feel better afterwards. It's really hard having a day job because I never feel consistently well rested? I am okay but several times a day I start yawning and wish I could crawl back to bed. What's my point? I don't know, I think my condition just makes me this way. I don't feel like it's the meds. crtclms
My most productive sleep schedule is 5 hrs at night (work started at 6AM), and 3 hours in the afternoon. I was working part time, so after work, I would run all my errands on the way home, eat lunch, and then crash.
PseudoLucky_Peach
Having said that, when I was taking Cymbalta for my antidepressant, I took a 2-hour nap every day, plus I was sleeping 9-10 hours every night. Eventually I realized that this wasn't a good thing for me and my doctor switched my AD to Wellbutrin. Olga, I had a very similar experience. I was on Pristiq, an SSNRI like Cymbalta for 3 mo's (am weening off this cuckoo juice as we speak). After the first month of increased energy, I bottomed out. I spent hours and hours on the couch/in bed, sleeping, zombified on tv, doing any and all things that weren't productive. I brought this to my pdoc's attention and requested we try Wellbutrin. I'm only on day 5 of 50mgs/day, so I can't say things have changed dramatically, but I feel an improvement. But withdrawal from Pristiq is so incredibly brutal. It has made me so cautious about SSNRIs. But, boy are they effective!
olga
Don't give up yet----you're on a really low dose of Wellbutrin. I think a lot of us take 300 mg/daily, so hang in there until you get to the dosage that's right for you. Also, when I took the SR, I saw no change in my depression. I might just as well have been taking an aspirin. Then I tried the XL version, and it was entirely different. I hope one of them works for you---it literally saved my life. olga

Sometimes it can take 6-8 weeks for your body to feel the full effect.
