madmax15
I was at my friends house yesterday. I didn't know him that well. Anyway he offered me water. It was that hot. So I took it. We live pretty close to each other. I was gonna walk home. But instead he offered me a lift. Strange. And strange he no longer answers his phone. He asked me for money in a text and I did not reply. I noticed since yesterday night my eyes REALLY HURT. Was my drink spiked? Can you actually spike water?
hagar
It's probably possible that water can be spiked, but I don't know for sure. What makes you think it was? Just that your eyes are hurting? That could be due to any number of things I'd imagine, and you should probably get it checked out regardless. But do you think you blacked out? Feel woozy or drugged? I'm not saying that it wasn't spiked, just trying to understand why you think it was. If it was, he is a complete piece of shit and I would never speak to him again or answer any of his attempts to. Just a thought, could you get a drug test or something to test for things like that?
Guest
He was asking for money and prior to that he sent me a sms message with a link that I thought was malicious "myhome.net" or something like that. When I think of it I assume he was upset with something. So he invited me to his place. I was there for like 15 minutes. We both agreed I would walk home. So strange he gave me a lift home. MY EYES AS WE SPEAK REALLY HURT.
hagar
Hurt like how? How is your vision doing? Do you think you should go to urgent care? If you suspect you've been poisoned, then I would definitely suggest going just to be safe. It sounds like a really frightening experience and I'm sorry it's happening :/. Guest
When he filled my cup up with "water" I thought it was strange he filled it up not in clear view of me. I know one thing for sure Im gonna avoid this guy like the plague. Edited February 22, 2014 by nirvanasongz13

Its a bit blurry. There are no other symptoms other than my eyes. Thank you for asking. On monday I will go to the doctor. bluelikejazz
I think it's far more likely that you have dry or irritated eyes, than for somebody to have found a drug that is flavourless, odourless and colourless and administered it with the only lingering symptom being sore eyes. Also, the vast majority of drink spiking happens in conjunction with drinking alcohol and the alcohol could potentially mask symptoms. Are you worried that you have been a victim of sexual assault? If so, it's wise to seek medical help just incase. If not, what could his motivation have been for spiking your drink?
Guest
If not, what could his motivation have been for spiking your drink? He will no longer answer his phone or sms messages. He was/is upset about "something" - I would not loan him money? Who said it HAS to be a drug? Maybe something else. My vision is a bit blurry. Like something is in front of my eyes? I did feel a bit dopey. Maybe that was the seroquel?
vanderk
At the risk of sounding like a dick, why are you seeking assistance here rather than going to the ER? If you believe you've been drugged you need to be tested. Go now.
MiaB
Honestly, this sounds very peculiar and in my opinion, unlikely, but I am sorry that you are so distressed and upset. I have to agree with vanderk that if you really think you have been doped or poisoned, the responsible thing to do is NOT to post on CB and wait for replies which might take hours to receive, but to get yourself to the ER or some form of urgent care now. Waiting until Monday if you are genuinely worried just doesn't make sense.
WinterRosie
If you think your drink was spiked then go to the ER and get them to do a test on your bodily fluids (I can't remember which it is) to identify the drug. Some drugs only stay in your system for about six hours, so they really won't be there on Monday. You know who put it there, so if you really do think that he's dangerous you would have enough evidence to report him if you wanted. And all of that information would happen right in the ER so you wouldn't have to go anywhere else. It's really scary to wake up and be unsure about what happened. It's also scary to get some answers, yes. But on the scariness scale, unknown is a lot worse than having answers. We can't really give them to you here, because we're not there and not able to test for drugs in you.

WinterRosie
I'm glad that you went to the doctor. Where I live they tend to be closed during non-working-day hours, which is why I suggested the ER instead. Here, it's the only thing open right now. Since your country works differently, I'm glad that you went to a doctor! Did they help your eyes at all?

I need to know IF my suspicions are true I wont talk to this guy anymore. Bit sus Im pretty sure he invited me his place just so he can spike my drink. Somethings not right and he still won't answer his phone.

forgetmenot220
I think you are experiencing something other than a spiked drink. Like someone else said, maybe it's pink eye, or you never know, maybe you scratched your eye. Just go to the doctor tomorrow and find out what it is really is instead of freaking yourself out on a forum. Mirazh
My ex boyfriend and two other friends of mine have had incidents of their drinks being spiked. Based upon your description of effects, compared to the descriptions of my ex and friends' experiences, it does not sound to my unprofessional self that your water was spiked with something. The effects in my ex and friends' cases were very, very, very drastically intoxicating. As well, water is not going to hide the taste or colour of anything and most stuff that would spike a drink is going to need something to cover up something like colour/taste/odour. That being said, an issue with your eyes (which could be unrelated,) could be something you'd perhaps want to check out with a medical professional. Guest
It was not in a glass. It was in a cup. I did NOT look in it when I drank it. Maybe that "something" wasn't a drug? Maybe he spat in it and he is trying to give me something he's got?

Maybe he spat in it and he is trying to give me something he's got? I really think that you're perseverating over this idea now, and I don't see how useful it is for us to go through all the "what if" scenarios with you. I understand that this is causing anxiety, but none of us was there, none of us knows this guy, and we've given our opinion on whether your drink was spiked. To continue into "what if he spat in it" is just pointless. I strongly, strongly encourage you to go to the doctor on Monday and get a professional opinion on whether, in the light of the symptoms you are reporting, ANYthing could have been passed on to you, or if what you are experiencing is totally unrelated. It honestly may just be as simple as you confusing cause and correlation - the fact that you experienced some problems with your eyes after visiting this guy does NOT automatically mean that he did something to CAUSE the problems. Mirazh
I agree, I think you're perseverating to anxiety extremes with these "what if" scenarios. If your eyes are bothering you, get them looked at by a professional. Spitting in the cup might put you at risk for a cold or something. At worst. You mentioned it's been hot out. Do you keep yourself regularly hydrated? My meds can do a number on my ability to keep myself properly hydrated, and adding in heat just makes that issue worse. When my eyes hurt, there's usually three things at fault, one of which is insufficient hydration. When I keep myself properly hydrated, my eyes stop hurting. (The other two things are: sinus headaches, which I am prone to getting due to other health issues - and eye-focusing issues, like if I try to knit lace with my glasses on.) There are plenty of reasonable explanations for eyes hurting, and it really sounds to me as though you are potentially reaching out for any possible angle for some worst case scenario here - that sounds like anxiety (though of course I can't diagnose,) it's what I do when my anxiety kicks into overdrive (that's why I say it sounds like anxiety.) Continuing to investigate the what-ifs will likely only serve to make anxiety spirals worse. Do you have ways to cope with anxiety spirals? Do you have medications to take in case of anxiety attacks? Do you have things learned in therapy, like how I learned things to do in CBT, that you can work through to try and decrease your anxiety? Do you have a therapist you can contact or even make an appointment with? Would talking with a GP help you in this regard? There are many ways to break the anxiety cycle, continuing to focus on the worst-case-improbable scenarios is going to do the opposite and keep you going on this, which must feel terrible and awful and scary. I mean, I presume so - when my anxiety spirals out of control, sometimes I can barely move it's so bad. But it's the anxiety doing that to me. Guest
Ummm... my schizophrenia is getting worse and worse now. bluelikejazz
Nirvana, I'm sorry to hear things are getting worse. It could be possible that your schizophrenia symptoms are greatly exacerbating your fears about the drink spiking, not the other way round. Chickenlips
This actually happened to me for real... I used to live with this guy and I moved out and we had a bit of an argument. About a month later he called me and was like, hey I still want to be mates, can I come over for a cuppa... I was like, yeah ok... why not. So we arranged to meet that Saturday night at my place. When he arrived, he made the tea that we drank, and that is the last thing I remember until I woke up the next morning.... I did not remember a thing from the night before, I tried to call him and he didn't answer... About a month later, I was making my bed and went to turn over the mattress and I noticed a slit in the side of the mattress at the bottom... I felt inside and pulled out a wodden candlestick, and on it were carved pictures of witches, spirits, people doing rituals.... I looked on the other side of the mattres... YUP, matching candlestick..... I believe he put a spell on me, was hoping I would die, or get sick or something. I think he was involved in demon worship. He had mentioned he was a wizard some time before.... Thing is, I knew I was missing time and I felt blurgh the next day... it wasn't "guessing", it was a known thing.... Anyway that is my two cents...
