M@ri
from: http://www.zdnet.com/major-apple-security-flaw-patch-issued-users-open-to-mitm-attacks-7000026624/ Apple rushed the release of iOS 7.0.6 on Friday with a patch for a shockingly overlooked SSL encryption issue that leaves iPhone, iPad and Mac computer users open to a man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack. helenllama
ipad, iphone, computer, all of them. It is only certain versions of the operating system that need to be updated. iOS 6 and 7 and Mavericks as far as I understand.
StormBeforeCalm
Make sure that you do a backup before updating your device. (You should always do that anyway). My iPhone failed to update properly and I had to restore all my photos, messages, etc. from backup. I know someone else who had the same thing happen to him, so there may be some wonkiness with this update.
olga
From what I've read, people who are running OS 6 and 5 on their computers don't have a fix. Apple has only released the fix for the later model iPhones and iPads. People with older computers are just hanging out to dry. olga

From what is floating around whether it is an error introduced in iOS 6 or not is still up for debate. why this need to upgrade? This time it is because of a security flaw. That basically allows a hacker into your email account and other similar things, Apple are also working on a patch for Mavericks/OS X Edited February 23, 2014 by helenllama

I assume they did that so they wouldn't have to put out patches for multiple versions of OSX when shit like this happens. Upgrade to Maverick and a patch should be out in a few days. WinterRosie
What about my computer that runs something like four OS's (oaseas?) ago? I'm pretty sure I'd have to take it in to the geniuses (genii?) to do anything with it, now.
