Just a big thank you

Recommended Posts

I signed up just now to say thank you. Thank you for your detailed accpunts regarding your preferred AD.

They kept me busy while I was waiting for mine to kick in. Literally all I dod for the last 3 months was trawl google for reviews, experiences and stories on antidepressants.

I very often ended up here, on crazyboards.

I'm also here just in case there's someone out there looking for hope, waiting for their meds to kick in or at the end of their tether. I want to let them know that when they do, when you do get that glimmer of hope that life becomes magical again.

So just wait it out, be patient, trawl away and make this an opportunity to learn more about the human brain (I had absolutely no idea as to what seratonin was until my first MD episode that started 3-4 months ago.) Now I can babble on about the mind for hours haha

If you're in a horrid situation please pm me (i'm new here and just getting the hang of it btw) and we can chat. Also ask any questions you like here and I'll be more than happy to answer (if anyone's interested in any of this haha)

Oh and of you're interested, I was prescribed lexapro 10mg but after a lot of research, decided to up my dose all on my own to 20 and here I am today :)

memz, I'm very happy that CB has been useful to you, and I hope you stick around to be an active member.  However, we don't encourage people to change their med dosages without consulting their doctors.  I'm glad that you are feeling better, but please let your psychiatrist know that you have increased your Lexapro.

Good luck and I hope things continue to improve for you.

Thank you for the reply Olga :) I am currently on holiday and was desperate, so I took a shot and it worked.

I will definitely inform my GP upon return though. Yes I will be sticking around as I'm prepared to learn and teach as much as I can.

Thank you so very much :)

I'm glad the medication kicked in and you are doing better.  But I agree with olga, that your DR needs to know about the med increase ... not just so he knows, but also because you may run out of meds before the next refill because you are taking more than prescribed.
