BadLuckBuffy
I did a search for Brintellix, because my doctor thought we could try it and I'm realllllly not liking it. After reading just one thread here, I knew it was a place I'd like! 35, disabled by fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, also disabled by chronic major depressive disorder. Currently unhappy with my marriage, have a 14 year old daughter and a 2 year old son, plus 5 cats and 3 dogs. (I do animal rescue.) My daughter struggles with depression now, too, and self-harm. My son is speech-delayed, but understands language on a higher age level, not that that makes it any less frustrating. Not sure what else I should put in here.. Currently weaning off of Effexor and onto Brintellix, but ready to throw in the towel on the new drug already. It's nice to see a safe, honest, and hilarious board for those of us for whom depression is a lifetime battle. I need it. Bad Luck Buffy

Bonita
The right med balancing game always sucks. Good luck with that! My aunt used to always tell me, "People with mental illness always have the best sense of humor. Because we have to!!" It has always helped me to try to laugh at God's cruel joke on my brain
BadLuckBuffy
Thanks for the welcomes! Sorry I am just now getting back here - the Brintellix experiment went worse than expected. I basically loafed around on the couch sniffling with leaky eyes for a week. Back to the stuff that works, and I didn't even cry about my son staying up late yet again.. go me! HAL9000
On a different medical issue a nurse told me that sticking with what works is plan #1. I had some problems with putting up with things that clearly did NOT work in some ways and then its worth doing some work to experiment and find a good drug or mix of drugs. I guess thats plan #2. For what its worth I know waiting 6 weeks (Or whatever) for things to kick in is a really giganto suck fest but once you hit on the right combo it really makes it worth it.
