lisa2712 Posted March 16, 2014 Share Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Hi, Since I've been on Seroquel XR 100 mg (about 2 months) I notice I have slight headaches, with slight discomfort on the temples. My head feels full. WHen I was on 150 mg it was worse, where I felt my temples on my head throbbing. Is this something that I should worry about? It's not really painful, and I put up with some side effect's of medications because I know medications are going to have side effects, and I have had bothersome side effects on pretty much every medicine I've been on (including Abilify, Geodon, Buspar, Zoloft, clonazepam, Lexapro, Risperdal). Every psych med has side effects for me, and this side effect of Seroquel is something I can live with, but I wonder if it's ok for my health, b/c I don't know if slight headaches and slight discomfort in the temples is healthy or is something not to worry about. mjs190 Posted March 23, 2014 Share Posted March 23, 2014 It could be the activity that Seroquel has on alpha adrenergic receptors. Their effect can cause hypo- or hypertension which in turn can cause headaches. In general, "headache" is listed as one of the common side effects with Seroquel.
