madmax15
I began making friends with this guy. Alarm bells rung when he sent me a message asking "Are you in the masoic program?" I didn't reply thinking it was sus. I looked everywhere on the net nothing really came up. Does anyone know what sort of program it is?
hermes
Did he mean masonic? Any context or was this out of left field?
Guest
Did he mean masonic? Any context or was this out of left field? Left field. Maybe he misspelt it? He might of meant "masonic"? He asked me who I lived with then asked me that all in a text message. Edited March 18, 2014 by nirvanasongz13
hermes
If it's masonic it's harmless. You can google their programs, scholarships and such. I would just tell him no (unless you are) and ask him the same question back. Maybe that would help you understand his meaning behind it. Btw, the masons aren't a cult or religion. More like a club. Odetta
I don't know if masons are supposed to ask others if they are members. I do know they don't recruit, per my dad, who is one. You have to approach them and ask a mason how to be a member and then they can walk you through the process. I think someone has to sponsor you, too. Guest
Maybe he did mean "masoic"? Sounds like something to do with muslims?
Chimako
My husband's friend who's a mason calls it Boy Scouts for grownups. He made it sound very unthreatening.
hagar
Maybe he did mean "masoic"? Sounds like something to do with muslims? Well, Islam isn't a cult, so.... Also don't see how that sounds like anything "to do with Muslims." Why not just ask him what he is talking about?
Guest
Why not just ask him what he is talking about? Well it could be a trick. Trying to get me curious...
bpladybug
a trick? you are over thinking this just ask him a few direct questions until you understand much easier to ask for information that imagining, making things up, asking up
MiaB
You're spinning yourself into an overthinking spiral. Just ask him what he meant. Couldn't be simpler. You've spoken elsewhere about difficulties you have connecting with people - well, here's a chance to connect.
koa
I feel like there is a 95 percent chance he meant masonic. Masoic isn't a real word, doesn't mean anything. It is not a cult. It sounds like you might be a bit paranoid. I agree just ask direct questions like, "did you mean masonic? no, i'm not. are you?"
Indigo 'n dye
It is amazing that you are asking this here on CB where no one has the faintest idea of what your friend meant. The best source of information is he how asked you! All you needed/need to do is ask for clarification. Just ask!
