Not all who wander are lost

Recommended Posts

My name is Shannon.

I am new to this website and so far I really like it.

I cannot afford therapy at this time, but desperately need it.

I am not medicated. I was, but after about 12 different rx combos, all I had was a mind that wasn't getting any better.

I no longer desire to live a life on medicine. Some would say I need it, but I know what I need. I need to find like minded people who understand what I'm going through. I don't know anyone in my life with BPD other than my mother and that relationship is extremely unstable (surprise surprise).

I'm too the point in my life where I'm beginning to become very worried about my personality. The way I interact with others is not appropriate and I am so embarrassed.

I feel as though I've driven all my loved ones away. I didn't want them to go, but they always do some way. I am too much. Emotions run so deeply in me and I feel like a different species. I'm sensitive to the point that I can't hold conversations often. I end up misinterpreting what's going on. Highly delusional.

I have hope I can overcome this. I just wanted to share some things about myself-maybe some of you out there can relate. I sure hope so.

Namaste, all, and thanks for reading.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king

Tolkein did have a way with words.   Welcome to CB. You should know, however, that in general this site in pro medication and pro therapy.   Personally, I would not have a life without medication. Meds have literally saved my life.

Shannon, I'm glad you came here.  I hope you will gain some insights into the various kinds of treatments, and maybe our members can make suggestions about how you could find sliding-scale therapy.

It would be lovely if we could all "overcome" our mental illnesses, but it doesn't work that way.  As Indigo said, medication saved my life, and that is not hyperbole.  You can have friends, you can have an SO, you can have whatever you want and need-----if you get the proper treatment.  I hope you will hang out on the BPD board and get to know some of our members.  They will indeed understand what you are going through.

Good luck.
