eyerepeater
It's almost 4 in the morning. I'm guessing I'm not the only one on this site who has insomnia. I actually don't even remember what normal sleep is like. Anyways, I found this site when I was googling the new medication I just got put on (bupropion) and it seems like everyone here is a lot more knowledgable about all this mental illness stuff than I am. I've been diagnosed with various different things and, with my new psychiatrist, the current prognosis is major depressive disorder woo hoo! I've been on & off with treatment/therapy since I was 15. Up until now though I was never very interested in getting better. I think the longest I ever stuck to a med or doctor was a few weeks. I thought that having a mental illness was embarrassing cuz I was a dumb teenager. I'm not claiming to not be dumb now, as someone in their early 20's, but I am definitely very intent on getting better! I even use exclamation points now so that has to be a good sign. So yeah thats who the hell I am, kind of.

eyerepeater
Thanks for all the welcoming vibes guys! I'd be interested to know how the bupropion works for you Olga. I'm only on day 3 so I'm not quite sure how it'll work for me. I'm also not sure how long it takes to start working. Any side effects for you? olga
I'm baaaaaaacckk!! heh As Indigo points out, we have had several threads in the antidepressant forum with discussions about Wellbutrin/bupropion/budeprion. It's different for everyone, but I have to say that the XL (extended release) form of the drug was much more effective for me than the SR (standard release) version. At 150 mg I felt nothing, but at 300mg it was a very fast-acting drug. However, many of our members do very well with the SR version, and for some of them it took a number of weeks to feel the effect. Give it a chance to work. I have absolutely NO side effects except for a little dry-mouth. That could be from the WB, or it could be from my blood-pressure med. Other than that, it has helped to keep me on an even keel for 6 or 7 years now. Maybe 8---I can't remember. olga
