theCr4ig
Any tips or experience with this swap? My cymbalta was causing several side effects and put me in a much worse depression. The fetzima info online is slim....
mjs190
Fetzima is more preferential to norepinephrine reuptake than to serotonin reuptake. Cymbalta is more preferential to serotonin, but does effect norepinephrine as well (almost as equally as serotonin). If you need more in the norepinephrine reuptake department, Fetzima will work very well. If its more serotonin reuptake that your body requires, Fetzima might be a bust. Best way to find out is to try!
m1renee
Hi. I am switching from cymbalta to fetzima. I have been four days now without any cymbalta and the withdrawals are insane. I am taking 40 mg of fetzima but can not tell what is working and what is not with all the withdrawal symptoms. How are you doing on the change? theCr4ig
So far, so good. I swapped with no step down of the cymbalta at 60mg to 20mg fetzima for a couple of days then to 40mg fetzima, and have had no problems. No side effects or withdrawals. randomkat
I switched from celexa to fetzima a week ago. I am on 40mg. I've always had trouble falling asleep so I also take about 5-10mg of ambien. I had some naseau for a couple days but that's gone away. I couldn't sleep last night even with ambien and when I finally fell asleep for about two hours this morning I had horrible nightmares. It seems like there are alot of people who are trying fetzima for the first time as it is relatively new. Amyone else having trouble with insomnia on this med? Jadegold
Ugh! Just switched off Cymbalta to Fetzima- Week 1, I had both. This week no Cymbalta and I have been on 80 mg of Fetzima. I abhor it. It is like PMSing bad. I am uncommonly overemotional, sensitive, aggravated, annoyed at everyone n everything and just severly unhappy... plus I have been sweating profusely and I feel jumpy and overcaffienated. Lol. ( I am also taking Vyvanse, 20 mg lowest dose for ADHD which works wonders.). How long do I have to live in this hell on earth before I start feeling the supposed great affects of this new drug? They say it gets worse before it gets better... I am trying to hang on, but today I didn't want to take it. Anyone out there know when it turns from horrible to at least tolerable? I feel so alone and in my own head. I need a joint.
theCr4ig
I have found that a lot of the negative side effects stay. Breaking out in sweats, rapid mood changes, hating the world, lack of motivation have all stayed in my case. I have had more problems at home and work on the fetzima than cymbalta. More bad days than good.
Jadegold
I have found that a lot of the negative side effects stay. Breaking out in sweats, rapid mood changes, hating the world, lack of motivation have all stayed in my case. I have had more problems at home and work on the fetzima than cymbalta. More bad days than good. How long have you been taking Fetzima? Sorry to hear that all negative are staying put. NOT good news for me, either. I refuse to be a sweaty bitch when I'm not even feeling any of the positive affects except a jolt of speedy wakefulness for about 6 hours straight and a fine alertness. Am I a guard dog? Um no. There are no ups for me at this time. Cymbalta was a godsend when I first went on it. Just got less effective as time went on. Perhaps it's time to rethink it, maybe in a bigger dose. Good luck.
