I started taking gabepentin and it helped the symptoms I was having tremendously, but it's had so many side effects that i've had to go on medical leave from my job!  my psychiatrist had me lower my lexapro fromj 40mg--which is about twice the normal highest dose, but I've been on that dose for years and it's helped a lot!!--to 20mg just last week.  And i'm on less than half the normal dose of gabepentin.  So, now i'm all sad and crying and depressed and i don't know if it's the lower dose of lexapro or me.  i'm bummed out and worried about some stuff and i get this way anyway sometimes, so I don't know how to tell the difference.  it's frustrating.

i really need the gabepentin, but every since i started taking it, i've been kind of a mess.

UGH!!!

If it were me, I'd make an appointment to see my pdoc and tell him exactly what I wrote here. You have had two big med changes. My pdoc won't make more than one change at a time so that he can tell exactly what would be causing my problems if they come up. You shouldn't have to feel this way. Call your pdoc!

You're right!  The good thing is i have an appt with him tomorrow. I'm very glad about that.  He is making all these changes to do what he calls make room in my medical regimen for the gabepentin.  It has kind of thrown me for a loop, but i really need it.  So he's changing other things to try and make it where i can tolerate the new drug.  This has been a very difficult time since Feb when i was inpatient.  he's very supportive and kind and knowledgeable, so i feel blessed.  i'll see what he says tomorrow.

Thank you for responding!!  I appreciate it!
