keyvin
Switching to seroquel from latuda because I could no longer afford the latuda. I am down to 40mg of latuda from 80mg and up to 200MG of seroquel. I am starting to have issues with insomnia. It is taking 5 hours to fall asleep I think. I cannot live with insomnia. I went six months sleeping 2 hours a night and the only possible cause was geodon as it was the only pill I was taking. This insomnia lasted even after I switched from that to zyprexa. My biggest fear is going back to that level of insomnia. It seems like if the insomnia was caused by going down on latuda it would get worse in the morning rather than trouble falling asleep initially. Since seroquel has a short half life, I am thinking that it is falling below a certain threshold and I can finally fall asleep. I will be able to confirm when I start taking more seroquel. Mostly I am just anxious and wanting to vent. This med change fucking sucks to me, because I exhausted every possible avenue of getting Latuda before giving up. Everything was really great and I was looking for work again. If this insomnia persists it is going to wreck that.

MiaB
Just a warning that seroquel can become less sedating with dosage increases. Are you taking anything else to help with the insomnia, or is your pdoc aiming to use the seroquel as monotherapy? I know from my own experience what it feels like not to be able to sleep because your head won't shut the hell up - I'm in a kind of hit and miss phase with my sleep at the moment too, and it's wearing me down. My pdoc focuses very heavily on my sleep patterns as an indicator of how I'm doing, and I think she's right. Have you spoken to your doctor about how much you're struggling during this med change, and how anxious the lack of rest is making you feel? keyvin
No, I talked to my pharmacist, and he said unless it was absolutely unbearable to give it more time. If it persists, I will most definitely talk to my doctor. After suffering insomnia that was literal torture it is rather uhm, triggering to experience insomnia. Whenever I don't sleep well, I start to fret that the terrible unrelenting insomnia is back. I'm not sure if I would survive it if it came back. Hpunk94, I hope you feel better soon. KillBytes
Seriquel by itself will not help me fall asleep. However taken with ambien by my doctors order, works perfectly. The ambien helps me *fall* asleep but not stay asleep. The Seriquel does nothing to help me *fall* asleep but does a great job of keeping me asleep once I do fall asleep. So this combo works best for me and it took a long time for my doctor to finally try this combo. There is a warning with this combo which is why my doc was reluctant to try it. You can black out, sleep walk, sleep eat, even sleep drive! But seriquel by it's self did nothing for me.
