anon34
So my pdoc prescribed me Klonopin since the lorazepam wasn't working anymore, however she told me to NOT take any more lorazepam and to just take the Klonopin. However, I was shaking and zapping a whole bunch yesterday and finally took a lorazepam and it helped a ton. This morning, I woke up and took a Lorazepam and Klonopin together hoping I don't get the shakes again and feel as though my head is gong to pop off. Is this safe? Any suggestions? jt07
You really should not go against the orders of your doctor, especially when it comes to benzos or other controlled substances. If you lose your doctor's trust you may have trouble getting controlled substances prescribed to you when you really need them. Having said that, I think you will be ok today, but I am of course NOT a doctor.
anon34
Ok. Thanks for the reality check. I wasn't sure what to do exactly.
Equivilency
Ok. Thanks for the reality check. I wasn't sure what to do exactly. I would ride it out for a bit. You might need to wean off the lorazepam. Check with your doc.
peacelizard
You're probably getting withdrawal symptoms from your body not having the Ativan anymore and it's also dealing with the Klonopin. I don't know what dosage of Ativan you're on, but I'd talk to your doctor about the side effects you're having. Maybe he or she could set up a taper schedule so the withdrawal symptoms aren't as sucky. Either way, I wouldn't take both at once as that's a recipe for disaster, both in terms of sedation and withdrawal symptoms.
