Equivilency
Hi all, I was doing so great on my Wellbutrin XL 150mg and my doc recently upped my dose to 300mg. Depression came back and hit me on the first day of taking the new dose! I've been totally in the gutter the last few days. When you change doses do you have to wait a full month for the effects? I feel like i'm starting at ground zero again.. P.S. Wellbutrin destroyed my libido >.< *** Sorry mods I posted in the wrong forum like a tard. olga
I haven't heard of this kind of thing happening, but I'm sure other people will comment. WB restored my ability to orgasm, which was very nice, and going to 300 mg knocked my depression out the window. It is a perfect dose for me, but if it doesn't work for you, talk to your doctor. I think some people do very well on 150mg. olga
ChameleonCompass
In my experience, going on or raising my Wellbutrin dose is always tough in the beginning. The first two weeks are the worst for me - I'm irritable, cranky, unhappy, despise everyone around me and generally feel like shit. Then things even out. Works that way on increasing the dosage with me, but to a much lesser extent. Perhaps let your body adjust a couple weeks and reassess if this was the right med change for you? melissaw72
For me it is very activating and I never had the problems you describe. But I'd wait about 6 weeks to see if anything changes; sometimes it takes a little while to see the full effect of something.
tamagotchi
When I raise or restart Wellbutrin, I usually have a short period of depression and often suicidal thoughts, especially the first couple of days. The release method changes with different manufacturers and that can make all the difference with Wellbutrin. I always took the brand but there are many people who like the generic. My cousin had to switch one day because of insurance after years of taking Wellbutrin brand and she went into a major depressive episode until she switched back. Also, it could be a total coincidence. Wellbutrin was the bomb, still is, but after some time I added Lex. My depression was still hanging about and that extra added med was the perfect cocktail and still is. How long ago did you change to 3540XL and how long have you been on Wellbutrin? edit: I still get depressed on meds. I call it DOD. Depression on Drugs. The difference is I KNOW it will end. That's awful. I totally forgot about this side effect. You would think pdoc's would warn their clients.
Equivilency
I'm going to give it another 4 weeks guys. This medicine doesn't never really works right away for me anyway. I've been on 150mg for 4 weeks doing fantastic. It was helping me concentrate and be active again so my pdoc upped it to 300.
