writehellarandomshiny
Hey Guys, My DX is ADHD, General Panic Disorder W/o Agoraphiobia, and Mood Disorder NOS. Lately I've also been dealing with severe depression. Here's the combination my doctor put me on today: New Combination:25 Mg Zoloft (depression)10mg Ambien (sleep - I hope this shit knocks me out cold and doesn't cause me sleep walking problems)30mg Adderrall Xr (ADHD) 75mg thyroid meds (no clue what they're called) 40mg Celexa (anxiety) 25mg Visatril PRN (anxiety) I'm most nervous about the celexa + zoloft combination, because it raised the red flags with the interaction checker. I'm willing to give it a try, since my doctor's never steered me wrong before, but wanted to know what you all thought about the combination. Old meds in sig. Here's what it said about the celexa + zoloft combination. Serious - Use Alternative citalopram + sertraline citalopram and sertraline both increase serotonin levels. Possible serious or life-threatening interaction. Monitor closely. Use alternatives if available. Combination may increase risk of serotonin syndrome or neuroleptic malignant syndrome-like reactions. writehellarandomshiny
I guess I say all this to say, "Any advice?" I'm going to try it, but nervous. Has anyone else had a combo that's even remotely similar? Thanks. Edited April 15, 2014 by writehellarandomshiny
CeremonyNewOrder
It's most likely okay if your doctor prescribed it.
San
The interaction checkers don't factor in dosage and whatnot. The pharmacy also has checkers of their own, and knows what interacts with what. The dose of Zoloft is so low, it won't cause any of the interactions that raised red flags, or the pharmacy wouldn't have filled it. I'll take them all to the same pharmacy like I always do and check there.
quiet storm
Every interaction checker I've ever seen gives a canned serotonin syndrome response whenever you add two or more antidepressants.
Catnapper
10mg Ambien (sleep - I hope this shit knocks me out cold and doesn't cause me sleep walking problems) I can't speak to the other meds, but a couple of Ambien pointers - it works best on an empty stomach. Also, it works fast, so you should be in bed when you take it, not still tidying the kitchen or checking one last email or something. It's a great drug, it puts me to sleep and keeps me there. But it's not such a total knockout that I can't get up in the night and pee, or am worried about getting out if the house catches on fire, or something.
