Iowella
Hi all, I'm wondering if Wellbutrin might offset some of my weight gain if my doc added it to my current cocktail? I can't deal with gaining 10 lbs every month. Not sure if my body is just going to do this until I hit my previous high weight or what. I used to weigh 190 lbs and cut it down to 135lbs which was an ideal weight for me that I managed to stay at for 5 years until I got on these meds. Now I'm ballooning like mad and I can't deal with it. I'd rather be suicidally depressed. ><
Bueler
Wellbutrin works really well on depression and can help negate sexual side effects and weight gain. So yeah, it might be worth a try. Do you have more of a problem with anxiety or depression? Wellbutrin is great for depression but not as great for anxiety.
MisterJoshua
I just recently started Wellbutrin and I have lost quite a bit of weight already. It just knocks my hunger out completely. I don't know that this is the case for everyone though.

Do you have more of a problem with anxiety or depression? Wellbutrin is great for depression but not as great for anxiety. Depression is my primary concern with secondary anxiety and some disordered thoughts, voices, etc. Wellbutrin is supposed to actually enhance risperidone, it would be interesting to see how they work together. KillBytes
Wellbutrin by itself is great, I forget to eat some times. BUT taken with other meds such as seriquel, it's effect on curbing hunger can be greatly offset. I ate like no tomorrow when seriquel was added to my list of meds. But not sure how much the wellbutrin helped back then. Hard to say, I guess it's worth a try.
olga
Wellbutrin is absolutely weight neutral for me but works great as an AD. Ask your pdoc if you should try it. olga
forgetmenot220
wellbutrin is great for me, no weight loss though, except for maybe a little bit initially. i tried risperidone with it and it was bad times (on the risperidone part). it's been great with abilify, haldol, and saphris. Equivilency
I was worried at first with the bloating, but its totally suppressing my appetite. I don't think weight gain will be an issue. Thanks guys!
MrTastybutt
Wellbutrin didn't make me lose or gain. It didn't work well for my depression but it worked wonders for my son.
