3 quessies about remeron

Recommended Posts

Well in my experience the hang over DOES go away..it took about 2 months for me. Yours looks like a sweet tart! I am jealous...mine is all pill like..And I did try the generic..For me that was a baaad move. I started diving into the pit after 3 days..

What dose are you on..I am at 30mg. I understand it is more sedating at lower doses.

Well that's my experience anyway..good luck!

Hi:

Was on remeron for years. The 30 mg, I believe, come in a quick disolve form. I was given this as a samlpe, and once by the pharmacy. I believe it is so it will get into your blood stream faster. Anything ingested through the mouth that disolves, is going to get into your blood stream faster than a pill that has to break up in your stomach. So, I actually liked them better. They worked faster.  Once you get up to 45 mgs., it was my exerience, that they don't make them in that form anymore. Who knows?

Never had the hang over. I think you are talking about being groggy in the morning? Did your p-doc explain that with remeron "more is less"? In other words, the higher the dose, the less sedated you will feel the next day? That makes no sense, but it's true. On 15 mgs, starting out, I was a zombie, moving up, things got better.

Good luck. I liked this med a lot for sleep. Knocked me out every time, but if something were to happen in the night, I could wake up and deal with it. I have been on other meds where this is not the case.

  Good luck and sweet dreams.

PS went to your web site and am getting the coffee cup for my husband for Christmas.  It's a riot!

i'm on remeron just for sleep.

it's ironic that artificial sweeteners fuck with my sleep cycle.  I'm picking up the 15mg generic from the pharmacy.  But i don't think it's gonna work for me, as I need to be able to do something besides sleep the next day.

It tends to be less sedating at higher doses, so by increasing the dose you might help your depressive symptoms more while having less trouble the next morning to boot.

It and Trazadone both left me pretty fuzzy in the morning but it was nothing a couple strong cups of coffee couldn't help.

Damn you VE [picture some intense fist shaking], I can't drink coffee.

;)

It's 3:30.  I woke at 10, went back to bed for awhile, and am now just waking up.

Yesterday, even with methylphenidate, i could not break the haze (lasted all day).  I'll try crystal meth or a pure adrenaline injection tomorrow I suppose.

I been on Remeron for awhile and a month ago I went up to 60mg.  Yeah the taste of it got me at the beginning.  The one side effect I still deal with is it drys out my throat pretty quick.  The headache went away after a couple of weeks.  I have never tried the generic brand

take care

pastafarian,

i'm there too with the all-day hangover. it's been two weeks and i'm just about ready to give up. i feel like i'm walking through pea soup, like i've got a bad cold but without the cold symptoms, and haven't gotten off the couch in days and days. i need to gain some weight but i seem to be the only one that hasn't gotten the increased appetite whatsoever. i can't even tell if i'm less depressed because i'm so much less functional and have zero energy. i think i associate feeling better with my ability to get out and do stuff.

HELLO PASTAFARIAN: YOU ARE NOT LISTENING!

You need a higher dose, not a lower dose, to get rid of that morning sedation. read VE's post. Read mine.

This is not your typical AD - "MORE IS LESS" - in terms of sedation.

pharmacist reccommends i drop to 3.25mg.  i'll try that next night when the following day is free.

This guy does not know this med.

But if you took that lower dose, you aren't reading this because you are still asleep.

When I was first started on Remeron I got Soltabs in the hospital...and they tasted like sweet tarts. When I got out of the hospital and got my script filled, I asked for SolTabs and got generic ones. They tasted like CRAP. So I switched to generic tablets. The company, Mylan, makes generic Soltabs.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I am, but I have to work 7 days a week one job while doing another contract position.  I am unprepared to up dosage and wait.  Any experimentation will have to wait for january when my schedule frees up a little.

does the hangover go away?

is the generic a quick-dissolve pill like the brand name?

My SO remarked that the pill looks like a sweet tart.  Fuckin tastes like one too!  What's with the sugar and sweetener?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

the generic doesnt quick-dissolve.. i think the hangover is less in the 15-30mg range than it is at very low doses 7.5mg or high doses (45mg) for me, so YMMV.

id say give it time but sometimes u will be stuck with a lesser hangover that is just on waking, not during your whole day.
