Phil Devoid
It's a pain to use this site on a Smartphone. Please create a user friendly app. Useless of course you already created one and I missed it.
olga
Well, Phil---since this is an entirely volunteer organization, and several of our mods and admins have day jobs that demand their time and attention, maybe you could suggest how we could go about creating this app. We don't have a staff of geeks behind the curtain ready to jump to it and do whatever you would like to improve the site. We have one geek---Velvet Elvis---and he runs the whole place. And makes less than you would working one day a week at Wally World. Yeah, he'll get right on that. olga
WinterRosie
When you are next on your smartphone scroll down to the bottom-left corner. You will see "change theme" and if you hit that you will see two options. The option that you want is "mobile" and is the second one down. Hit that. That's as close as it comes to our app I'm using it right now actually. I responded with this to your other thread posing the same question as well. Please stop making new threads on the subject. You're just going to keep getting the same answer.
Indigo 'n dye
IIRC, the mobile software for Crazy Boards is from the company DBA IP. Board (ETA: as is the forum software) , thus any alterations to the current app or a new app would need to come from them, not from CB. Phil Devoid
Sorry if I posted twice. Part of the problem is trying to use the phone. I'll try the mobile option and see if that helps. Between my bad eyes and general confusion it's extremely hard to use the tiny screen. Sitting in front of a PC is easier to see but painful after about 15 minutes. I'll get used to it eventually. I didn't realize the site is all volunteer, that's amazing. Congratulations and thanks for your service. I don't know yet if it's the site for me but for now it has captured my interest. Sloane
Any suggestions for the Kindle Fire HD? The mobile theme option does not work, and even signing into the normal desktop/laptop theme does not work (it signs you out, sometimes it doesn't even sign you in at all). This goes for all message forums as well on my Kindle, not just CB (neurotalk/psychcentral, copingwithepilepsy, crazymeds, etc.). However the other forums have integrated to Tapatalk. I understand this is a site for crazy people, run by crazy people; and I am not asking for anything new to be done (we are all dealing with our own crazy in our own crazy lives). But wondering for maybe suggestions? I am wondering If I may be doing something wrong?
ovOidampUle
Sloane -- I'm no expert, but I have read that Androids are notoriously different to program for because every phone uses different hardware. App developers have even developed a very expensive emulator to mimic the behavior of a few hundred different cell phones. That's one big advantage iPads have over Android. And I *hate* iPads. Phil -- Your problem isn't with the board's software, it's with your desk! What makes it uncomfortable? I've made a standing desk by building a box out of plywood, putting it on my desk, and putting the keyboard on it. It's about elbow height -- about where it should be. On top of that box, I've stacked about 18 inches of old parts catalogs to rest the monitor on. You can probably come up with your own jury-rigged system. I have a tall stool I sit on much of the time, but switching back and forth helps keep the fatigue down.
Velvet Elvis
It works fine on my first generation Kindle Fire. What browser are you using?
Sloane
It comes with a browser called Silk. I never heard of it until I bought my Kindle Fire HD. I don't know much (well, anything) about computers (software or hardware). I have a HP computer, a iPhone 5, and a Kindle Fire HD. Each one uses a different browser/system, and each one has their issues. My Kindle Fire is probably my problem child, however. And as for Androids, my actually old android phone worked fine - in matter of fact it would use the mobile version as default. But it's as if the internet (all sites, not just CB) does not recognize my Kindle as a mobile device.

Go the the Amazon ap store in your kindle and see what other browsers are available there. I forget the name of the one I use but it's based on chrome and is much better than silk. Sloane
Noted - and will do! I figured that was the issue (Silk being a shitty browser). But I didn't know I could download a new browser app! My understanding on technology is lagging, which is a shame me only being 26. Thanks (:
