WinterRosie
We have someone in the meatspace who keeps trying to engage in the Suffering Olympics. It passes me off (and can trigger the fuck out of Rosie until I get around to it). If this person is such a gold medalist they should know the following things: 1. You do not play the suffering Olympics. It only ends in tears. 2. You put a fucking content warning on that shit you fucking Asshole. Some of us are just checking our emails before going to work and need our brains to be functioning. You should know better since you included a whole "triggers 101" section. Way to put it at the bottom, too. After all the triggering content. That's not how it works! 3. Congratulations. Only you can experience pain through the power of intersectionality. No one ever experienced trauma such as you. Good job! You win the gold medal!!! 4. If you are going to engage in such Olympics you should at least acknowledge the opportunity for others to have similar or shared experiences. But nope. Can't share your gold medal!! Argh I hate when people do that. Is this person toxic to us? I can't tell right now. Fickle idiot bastard. as an adult you should know better. I'm 14 and I know this shit. Because it fucking matters. - cody

MrTastybutt
I'm sorry you have to deal with that. However I do like the term 'suffering olympics'. I've never heard the term before.

WinterRosie
Oppression Olympics are different though. That's more about intersectionality. Suffering Olympics are more akin to Trauma Olympics. Either way, I understand that the purpose of the email was to try to point certain things out. I simply feel that there was a more diplomatic way to do that... and maybe on that didn't set off two of our three trauma-based mental illnesses.
